It is sad how they proved the actual thing they were accused of.
For an extremely intelligent people, their religion has them the most unreasonable people on earth. It is showing more and more every day.

At this point they have rendered any argument to the positive they may have been able to make by allowing the violence that has happened. I do not know if anyone would find them believeable if they began espousing compassion and forgiveness now. It is unfortunate that the words of one man can cause such widespread hatefilled retaliation. Yes, he represents the Catholic church, however, his opinion does not reflect that of the whole Catholic populous. Perhaps he could have chosen not to quote the man he quoted, however, words do not harm the body. And if Islam is so compassionate and great a nation, it should be steadfast enough in it's own faith to know you should just turn a deaf ear to that which offends. All religions are slandered at some point by someone but if we allow violence to be the way we resolve dispute then we will never have a chance at world peace.

I would like to tell u what i would hv done had i been a muslim.
If i were a so called moderate Muslim in these circumstances i would try to help in every possible way to bring up the image of Muslims around the world. At least in the country i live in. Due the violent protests against the cartoonist, pope and every small thing, extremists bombin places and the "moderates' not coming out in an as much violent protest as they hv against the pope and more silly reasons and just saying v r peacefull, the rest of the public is forced to draw some conclusions. Either the moderates too support this or they also r scared to death that they will be condemned, hand chopped off, issued a fatwa against etc for speaking out against the terrorists. To dispell that (as the moderates say only a few bad apples) i would like to do the following. Instead of just saying every time a place is bombed "oh its only a few people, we are a peaceful religion, its only a few bad apples" I would actually give my life proving it is actually peace full, and instead of retaliating to questions about islamic extremism by being apologetic and defensive and reply by what about abortion clinics, what about Iraq, what about this..... what about that.... i would take the problem head on and first clear my house rather than reply by asking another stupid questions, if Christians did something wrong does that give u the excuse and the moral right to bomb everyone?. Do two wrongs make a right?? If fatwas are issued against the danish cartoonists offering a few million $ who would kill them, and for all stupid reasons y cant they b issued against osama bin laden and the terrorists?? Who is more of a danger to world peace??. Instead of wasting my energy in protesting the popes remarks, i would come out on the street , all guns blazing, with as much vigor as Muslims hv against the cartoonist and pope, protesting against osama bin laden and his clan for destroying my faith. I would state that There is absolutely NO justification for terrorism. I would like to reform the parts of the Koran that says death to all non believers, pay a head tax if Ur non Muslim, the law that says an eye for an eye hand for a hand....such kind of in-human laws (even if they no longer are practiced i would remove them: in case if they are not followed y keep them) Give women more rights. Or if those things r misquoted i would want (not me, the learned people of course) to re-write them in such a way that people do not get terrorised by my faith and think that it is a menace to society. If there is any such clause in Koran of forcibly converting people to Islam i would remove it (as i dont believing in imposing ones faith on others). Strive for the COMPLETE extermination of terrorists even if they r Muslims or of any religion . And only after my house is in order i would hv some moral right to point out to others that whats wrong with their religion.

I agree with you. As a Muslim, I'm ashamed to see such ignorance/violence in my own people. Islam does NOT preach that. These are illiterate people who think violence is the answer to it all. In the olden times, the enemies of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) used to torture him beyond belief but he would NEVER take revenge using voilence. Instead, he would give them a smile and walk away...Kill with kindness..

However you look at it, they are violent people. It only takes the slightest provocation to make them take to the streets to shout and burn effigies while calling for the person who offended them to be murdered. They don't seem to appreciate the irony of killing a nun and calling for the Pope to be murdered because they think he said that theirs is not a peaceful religion. There is nothing they could do to change my opinion of them. I am deeply wary of them and try to avoid them as far as possible.

That's just the thing, they can't. I mean look at what they did over a fricken cartoon. And to prove that what the Pope quoted was wrong they killed an innocent woman. It's sorta like saying " I'm not suicidal" then putting a gun to your head and pulling the trigger.. oh yeah one more thing............................you Muslim.....haa haa you cant catch me

If you study the 'marches' in any other country, you see police barricades and violence by the marching mobs. It is innate human nature, not peculiar to any culture.
