Fatty foods are very bad for dogs - such as pork and fatty beef, etc.. High fat diets for dogs can cause pancreatitis. If your dog has stopped throwing up and no diarrhea I would just watch him for now. You can give your dog unflavored pedialyte (it is a clear liquid drink for babies that are vomiting or diarrhea). This drink will replace electrolytes lost from vomiting and diarrhea. You can buy this at the grocery or drug store in the baby section (just make sure it is unflavored type). Also you may want to hold off for a little while on feeding your dog - give his stomach a break. When you feed him again you could give him some white chicken meat that has been boiled (skin and fat and bones removed of course) mixed with some cooked white rice. That is always a mild diet for a dog that has been sick. Feed her that till she is back to her old self.
If the vomiting and diarrhea continue - take her to the vet.

I hope your dog is feeling better by now, I have never had a problem with feeding my dogs fish, or pork, but then they have only ever had small amounts of pork.
Infact my youngest Terrier was recently put on a diet of white fish and plain boiled rice by my vet, following a tummy upset and she recovered very well and quickly.
As long as your dog is drinking well, you don't have to worry, you should leave him/her for at least 24hrs with no food, and then just give him a light meal of rice & plain chicken, or scrambelled egg. That is what my vet advised me to do, and it has never failed me yet.
As dogs have a very short digestive tract, sudden changes in diet can cause them to vomit and had diarrohea.
If you want to give them a treat, you should really stick to doggy treats as there are so many varieties and flavours available, and then you won't have an awfull mess to clean up, and the worry of a sick dog.
If your dog does stop drinking or starts to vomit or have diarrohea again, then contact your vet for advice.
I hope this has helped and that your dog is fine now.
Good luck.

I have read most of the other answers here- and I have to say - some people are very rude-and some people are actually helpful-Thanks for the no pork/ham tip! I have had many health issues w/ pets (mostly dogs) and I always say when it comes to a family member ( human or canine) its always better to be safe then sorry! Take your pet to the Vet!! or at least call them-and ask their advice- it might be something you can do over phone- try giving Children's Mylanta for upset stomach- child's dose no matter what size dog- I don't want to scare you - but I would do this SOON- and you might have to prepare yourself for the worst- or maybe not- which I hope there is nothing serious, please let me know either way- email me at yahoo.com-Thanks & Good Luck- God Bless and watch over you both! =)

Call your vet for advice.
You could try giving him a small snack and see if it stays down.
It is not a good idea to be feeding your dog people food, ESPECIALLY PORK. I can't tell you how often I hear about dogs with sever stomch upset (vomiting and diarrhea) that were fed pork or ham (or other fatty people food)- it can lead to pancreatitis, which will require treatment from a veterinarian.
Call your vet. It could just be a little tummy upset, but why take a chance.
Good luck! I hope your friend is feeling better soon.

You fed him pork! Thats why he has an upset tummy, pork is poisonous to dogs. Depends on how much you gave him as to how sick he is, if he has stopped vomiting and has no diarrhea then he should get over it. Watch how much water he is drinking and make sure he isnt gulping it, if he is gulping then limit the access to water so that he doesnt get bloated with the water and air from gulping. Someone fed my dog pickled pork not knowing it was bad for them and he ended up in the vets with a $400 bill. Do check what u feed yr dog and make sure its safe for them as many human foods are bad for them.

Ive 2 border collies and a Lab....Do not panic. The fact that he is drinking water is a good sign. These things usually last 24 hours - dont give him anymore food today and just give him a light diet of boiled rice tomorrow and maybe a bit of tinned tuna.
I have never heard of a dog being poisioned by pork - that is rubbish...he has maybe swallowed a fish bone and it has irritated the lining of his stomach.
believe me...if your collie is drinking water he is FINE...do not worry anymore...just keep an eye on him for the rest of the day.x

No, gave my dog some pork in the summer next day she was vomiting and had diarrhoea for two days. Apparantly dogs stomachs cannot digest pork, don't know why. Just keep an eye on him.

No, keep an eye on him, don't give him food, just water for next 12 hours. As long as vomiting and diarrhoea has stopped he should be okay. The food was probably too rich for him.

Just starve him for a day and then give him some chicken and rice the next day. But make sure he drinks plenty of water. If he is not rice the next day take him to your vet. But in the meantime if you are at all worried phone your vets for advice.
Pork used to effect my dogs stomach.
Hope he gets well soon and give him a big hug from me.

He'll be fine but I'll tell ya this! Feeding human food to a dog is not doing him any favors. Of course they'll love it but the fat content is NOT good for them. It should be pretty obvious that feeding him fish and pork did not agree with him.
