Because when Christianity pushed out Paganism they banished our goat foot god Pan. Pan is seen as being the devil because he is horned and he has sex with everything. He is only the father of fertility. Without him we have no food to eat. The word Pan means ALL. The horned god is the hunter. In some ancient tribes the men would go out hunting dressed as the animal that they would hunt. They would wear buckskin and the horns and sit out in the field and make believe that they were the deer. They would also smear deer blood on themselves so that they would smell like deer. Couldn't do that today with the invention of the gun. So Christians made the Goat foot God the devil in order to keep paganism away. Satanists took it and used it for their own doing too. The goat footed God is not evil. Lots of things that were innocent symbols were perverted to being evil symbols. For instance the Nazi Schwa sticker (not sure of spelling) was once a native american sun sign perverted by Hitler.

Christianity needed something to represent the fallen angel (either the Seraphim Satan or Samiel, or the Cherubim Lucifer) and a Pagan god of fertility, Pan, seemed to fit the bill.

A creature was invented that had the head of goat, in line with the Pagan god's description, and wings to represent the fallen angel.

Several other oddities were shown in it's image such as the presence of both breasts and a penis, to represent perversion, and sacred Pagan symbols such as the pentagram (5 point star) to demonise Pagan religions even further.

An image of the beast, known as Baphomet or a baphomet, can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Baphomet.png

Goats were in many circumstances used to represent the former god Pan interior the Roman international - the position christianity began. And so the early christians demonized the former gods. in case you look at a an historic carving of Pan, you truly are searching on the well-known devil - the 1/2 human style, the massive yellow eyes, the cloven ft, the horns. there turned right into a statue of Pan got here across at Pompeii which so precisely sounds like the christian devil that it truly is fairly humorous.

I can only assume it is because they’re ugly, smelly, and it has the resemblance of a devil with its horns and goatee (beard). As I see it though, a goat is a good and tasty meal. Marinate it with olive oil, garlic, a little salt & pepper for 30min. then grill it. Once you’re done grilling, it won’t hurt to invite your buddies for beers.

Because people don't realize how cute and loving goats can be.

We have 6 and they look like poodles with horns.

If we go outside they call to us to bring them treats.
