I knew a Malay chap who used masturbation to effect the curses he put on people. Having seen the results of some of his curses, masturbation certainly had spiritual connotations for him.

well there are several sects that believe the moment of orgasm (when the mind turns off for a split second) we are actually encountering god for that time. so yes, masturbation is spiritual (im trying not to make an ectoplasm joke)

Any pursuit of selfish physical pleasure cannot result in a spiritual experience. Sexual intercourse can be spiritual because you are giving to your partner as well as experiencing physical pleasure.

from what I've read, in some eastern, and tantric type practices utilize the spiritual and psychic energys in sexual .... erm, satisfaction, for deliberate intent and advancement,
