Some people in Holland take English as their second language, but most only know how to speak Dutch.

An example of an English-speaking Dutch is Real Madrid's Ruud Van Nistelrooy (:

Haha I hope this helps :D

Yes, they do. Especially Dutch people who are between 40 and 14. Most people in the Netherlands like it when you try to speak their language. Some will even refuse to answer when you don't speak their language (Dutch) but that depends on the person. You can travel the entire west of Europe without learning a new language... if that's what you want.

You mean Dutch people ? Many do as English is taught in Dutch schools. I have never met a Dutch person who could not speak excellent English, but I think there are some in more remote, rural areas.

Many Dutch people are quite fluent in English. I have some Canadian and American friends who lived in the Netherlands for a year, and really had to try hard to learn Dutch because so many people there were eager to speak English to them.

The official language is Dutch, but everyone gets several years of English in school (and French and German, too) so the vast majority can speak at least some English.
I´m Dutch - I should know.

I think that they are called Dutch. I think that a lot of European countries have English as a second language so I'm going to say yes but I don't know for sure.
