Evolution is a proven fact despite what many people will tell you. The part we don't know is why or how it occours.

To the person who posted this :-
"Every living person walking the earth today was descended from one woman: Eve. This can be proven using the molecular clock technique studying mitochondrial DNA.

Mitochondrial Eve isn't a theory, it's a mathematical fact."

Have you actually read the article on Mitochondrial Eve? Perhaps you missed this part:

"Naming Mitochondrial Eve after Eve of the Genesis creation story has led to some misunderstandings among the general public. A common misconception is that Mitochondrial Eve was the only living female of her time — she was not. Many women alive at the same time as Mitochondrial Eve have descendants alive today."

There is no substantial proof for evolution, the fossil record would show evolution to be true if it was but it doesn't. There is NO fossils showing things evolving in the entire earth. In fact, the fossil record shows the opposite - that each creature was created "according to it's kind" as Genesis states. The fossil record also backs up the flood of Noah's day (There is a lot of more info on this subject that I can share with you)

When Darwin publicized those views on evolution he also added that in the future there would be found proof to back up his THEORIES, that what he expected.
Has time proved him right? - NO

If Darwin was alive today he would retract his views because of lack of proof.

The trouble with evolutionists is - they discard the idea of a Creator straight away - and then try to find the answers for how live came about, with what they have left.
By not considering creation they therefore show themselves biased.
A truth seeker who wants to find the truth about life would consider ALL the evidence before deciding - therefore making an informed choice.

Creation wins

Answer by swordman:
Every living person walking the earth today was descended from one woman: Eve

I didn't know God approved of incest...

As for the rest of his statement, linking Eve to Mitochondrial Eve:

Mitochondrial Eve is the most recent common matrilineal (female-lineage) ancestor for mtDNA, not the most recent common ancestor (MRCA) of all humans

I've read this article on Mitochondrial Eve, and find that the conclusions are based on a research among first 147 and later 53 women. This makes the ground for the whole theory on Mitchondrial Eve very weak, since we're talking about less than 0.0001 % of the Earth's population.

As for Jeanne's statement: "The bible has never been proven wrong, evolution has never been proven right"

It is also true that The bible has never been proven right, evolution has never been proven wrong

Call me Thomas, but I've seen more proof of evolution than of the Bible.

And no matter about how many people claim that the Bible is God's word: I've seen so many different interpretations/translations of it, that you can only claim that any Bible (Catholic, Protestant, Reformed, etc) an interpretation of a translation of God's word. (I only use translation once, since it is claimed that for every translation the same source is used)

I know of at least one word (although I cannot remember which) in ancient Hebrew which has three different meanings, therefore translation of this one word can go wrong in 6 ways as opposed to 3 right ways.

If you believe in God and you believe what religious teachers say - that the Bible is the word of God - then you must believe Genesis. However, some more enlightened people (like me) can have enough independence of mind to believe in God but realise that Genesis need not be taken literally any more as people have gained more knowledge concerning the history of the Earth and realised that evolution took place

That last sentence is completely false. That's what happens when you use wikipedia as a research tool. Anyone can edit it. EVERY LIVING PERSON ON EARTH IS DESCENDED FROM MITOCHONDRIAL EVE. Some say that this mitochondrial Eve was part of a larger population whose descendants all died out, but this is a theory that cannot be proved. Not only is it speculative, but also unlikely, I mean you'd think if it were true that you would find at least a couple of hundred other genetic ancestors, but there isn't any more than one. The Molecular clock technique provides absolute proof about Mitochondrial Eve.

If you don't believe me, go do some research, then come back and provide evidence that proves anything that I've written is wrong.

The main reason is that I have a personal relationship with Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I know God created everything that has ever been created (not made) and everything that has be created God created.

Another reason is common sense (not science) tells me that everything had a beginning except God. We have not had an unlimited amount of time for all of these minor changes to happen over eons of timeas many say. Mathematically it's does not make sense that the universe has been around for an infinite amount of time.

Lets say their were an infinite amount of changes and you took away half of those changes you would still have an infinte amount of changes. But if their were an infinite amount of changes and you took away 4 of them you would have an infinite amount less 4. This does not work, you can not have mathmatics with variables like that.

Nature has laws, science loves these laws and I believe God put them there for a reason. God is the creator of all and is outside these physical laws, everything else falls within these laws. You can not use these laws to say their is no God but they as all Gods creation testify to Gods existence.

Many think the universe just came from nothing with no cause, of course nothing else has ever came from nothing sense. You don't sit a work worried that a horse just came into existence in your living room and is messing up the carpet.

I don't know that God didn't create everything in a way that simple men would believe it was billions of years old. I don't know that God didn't take more than six of our days to create everything but I belive it was six of our days. I don't know how much of man wisdom is foolishness.

I do know God and for me (and you) that is enough.

There are only 2 possibilities. One is that the universe was created by a supreme being.
The other is that the universe created itself.

Since matter and energy are not intelligent forces and cannot think, it seems absurd to think that they came from nowhere and created everything.
Why do you believe that matter is capable of such a feat when science has proved that matter is not alive and cannot produce life? Your own science contradicts itself.

You believe in the beginning... matter, I believe in the beginning...God.

Neither belief can be proven through science, therefore, by default they both are religious beliefs.

So, now, why is it that your religion is the only one presented in the classrooms? If religion shouldn't be taught in public schools, then evolution shouldn't be taught anywhere except in private schools.

God didnt create Earth if god did CREATE Earth and the universe and everything else he would stop bloodshed today but nah he lets more and more innocent people die and let good people die young and infamous people live long.

To religious people who the hell created god if he was so almighty and powerful who made him something must have a begining?

First, from the words of Scripture.
Second, Jesus, who is part of the Godhead and was there at creation, spoke of it as fact.
Third, the overwhelming evidence from geology, biology and astronomy point to design and creation.
Fourth, the evidence supporting evolution is shaky and refutable.
Fifth, considering all the evidence from the various scientific realms, it simply makes more sense.

To back up your point....
Because otherwise, you ignore a massive amount of factual research/disovery/questioning in favour of a stupid myth that has no basis in fact and cannot be proven.

"Because God says so", is not an argument, it's a smokescreen to hide the fact the Bible is contradictory rubbish - like every other piece of idiocy called religion.
