Yakult is the best of the lot, but generally it is considered that the actual 'good bacteria' is killed by the stomach acid before doing you any good anyway. Often people feel better because the include the drinks during a period of eating better. Basically, I'd save my money.

I dont know about this "2 week challenge" stuff though- people go into that expecting to feel really good after, so it's probably all in the mind!

But I find yogurt is always quite soothing on the stomach and worth having on a daily basis. I would rather have a probiotic yogurt every day than one of those drinks though, because it's in proper snack form but contains all those probiotic bacteria things, whatever they are!

70.80 years ago, or if you are on a poor diet then possibly it may help your digestion. if you are eating a well balanced diet with fresh fruit and vegetables then its doubtfull that it will do you any good

some of the pro-biotic drinks do have a role if say you have just completed a anitbiotic course, or some other reason why you gut flora may be suppressed or compromised (but you would get similar effects from eatinga live (not pasteurised yogurt).

I think there are also possible benefits if you suffer from IBS or some other disease fo the gut.

however it it makes you feel better then continue to consume Yakult or whatever. a great deal of the well being of the individual is mental - hence the so called palcebo effect.

Do probiotic drinks namely "Yakult" actually work?

No,

It's all a load of rubbish designed to fleece money from gullible people.
There are no health benefits to be gained by using these products. The 'friendly bacteria' they mention in the adverts does exist but the pro-bio yogurts do not contain nearly enough (or the right sort) of friendly bacteria to make any difference.
Those people who say that they gain a positive effect from drinking this yogurt would find that the same effect would be gained by having a pot of low fat yogurt a day. Yogurt (and dairy) is good for you but you'd save yourself a lot of money by not buying the pro-biotic kind.

If you have some sort of problem with your digestion, they can help a bit.
They will only help restore your 'systems' to how they should be working - they can't improve upon how it is supposed to work.
So, basically, if there's nothing wrong with you, they are a waste of time and money.

after taking this solution for a several weeks, i noticed that i was MORE prone to coughs, headaches, and colds than before taking it. maybe it's just me, but it IS increasing your bacteria intake regardless of whether it is considered "good" or "beneficial" bacteria or not...

i just don't see what benefit this has over a healthy diet of fresh fruit, vegetables, protein, and high-fiber carbs.

They really do, but only if you keep having them. If you stop, so does the benefits. FACT!
