I like my name. It is "Dallas". I don't like people that say Dallas sucks though...because I dunno if they are speaking of me, the city, the cowboys or in the 1980's the tv show. The TV show did suck.

My name is Ruriko, which is unusual for a girl of western descent. It means Lapis Lazuli, or Emerald, depending on which kanji lettering your use to spell it in it's native Japanese.

I've basically shortened it to Ruri. It says that on my name badge at work, friends and workmates use it and unless it's a government form, I'll usually fill it in as my name. I believe the only time I'm called Ruriko is by my mother when she's angry.

However, I love my name. I don't think I could ever change it. It suits me.

My name is Shane.

My ma was originally going to name me Andrew but, after watching a movie about a cowboy called Shane, she decided to call me that. The part that sold her was at the end of the film, when Shane is riding away on his horse, and a little kid calls out "Shane, Shane, I love you Shane". So that's how I got my name.

The name itself, I like it :-) It kinda makes me sound like an Austrailian surfer, which I'm not lol

I've thought about it in the past, but I've embraced my odd name. It makes me unique, and I'm glad that I stand out from the ordinary, the average, the mundane.
