You know the part circle with a line through it. It's basically on all computers and new technology. Here's a link

I'm just curious if it's a math symbol or some ancient symbol that means power or something

Oh, I can tell you, its actually nothing special.
In electronics everything is switched on and off by zeros and ones

0 stands for off and 1 stands for on,
well some designers have made one big zero with a one in the middle, this 1 has later been replaced by a line.

Its quite the logic ;)
You can see them in slightly different shapes, but they all symbolize On-Off (1 - 0) Sometimes they are accompanied with the colors red and green as red stands for off and green for on.
