Only God is infallible. The Pope is human and is subject to erring also and he will ask God for forgiveness but if you are referring to the latest incident then remember one thing and keep it in your mind. Different peoples have different ways of thinking. The Pope does not or did not understand the Moslem mentality. My answer to the Moslems that are creating all the fuss now is....if your religion doesn't preach violence then why are you promoting violence now and writing on your placards....Moslems will take over the Vatican.....if that is not incendary then what is? If Moslems are as peace loving as they say they are then why not take the Christian attitude and say....if a man slaps you on one cheek...turn the other cheek!!!! I think probably though am not sure of my facts that the Buddhist religion is probably the most peaceloving in the world but I wouldn't even guarantee that any more.

The Catholic Church teaches that the Pope is infallible at closely defined times.

The Pope is only infallible when he, in union with the body of bishops, solemnly teaches that a doctrine as true.

This comes from the words of Jesus to Peter (the first Pope) and the Apostles (the first bishops), "Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven" (Matthew 18:18) and "He who hears you hears me" (Luke 10:16).

At all other times the Pope can be just as sinful as you and me and be in need of forgiveness.

With love in Christ.

There is no man created by God that does not commit error or mistake.Pope infallibility is only with regard to his official position and the type of life to be lived by any one in that position. Aside from this he is not infallible for he is not God. It is a decision of the elders to protect and safe guard the office from abuse.Pope has body ,soul and Spirit just as you and I.Thanks.

Well, Prince Philip proved only recently, that the royal family deflate sometimes. So maybe the pontiff, who's anagram is - off pint, may suffer from the same betraying attributes.

An inflatable pope. Who blows it up? If you say an alterboy that's too predictable. If they had inflatable alterboys perhaps there wouldn't be any church scandals.
