Dreams are funny entities.

Basically, what scientists believe is that dreams are a way for you to subconciously work out problems.

Typically, if you think about something before you go to bed, or are worried about something before you go to sleep, you usually dream about it.

Think of it as emptying your recycle bin. You're taking everything you've been milling over and began to work through it when your body is calm and you have the time to tend to it.

It's been theorized that dreams are healthy. They increase mental stability (Less on your mind 24/7), and you only dream when you reach REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. When you reach this state, you are in a VERY deep sleep, and it is when your body slows down the most. It allows your muscles to begin to repair, your stomach to digest, and your body to most actively fight off infection.

If you don't reach REM sleep, you're screwed that night. :P

Plus, you can ONLY dream when you're tired. There is a chemical reaction in your brain that triggers it to begin the "Recycling" process.

Dreams are our mind's way of coping with all the stuff we come across daily - a kind of sorting and filing of things we didn't deal totally with during the day.
It's a way of keeping our mental and emotional balance, after all the visual and emotional stimulus of life. Worries and fears can also affect our dreams, and perhaps by dreaming we are able to face them. I agree, it's a fascinating subject, especially the analysis of dreams.

Many dreams are the experiences you have in short term recall (which is like RAM on a computer) getting transferred to long term recall (which is like the Hard Drive on a computer). The information is concentrated in code and provokes symbolic imagery as it transfers.

Other dreams are our hearts trying to tell us what our minds can't understand.

They are a form of release for the mind while the bod gets refreshed. What kind of dreams you have can be affected by eating late at night. Your tummy works instead of resting which affects your dream state. I also believe we can hear from God in our dreams, though sometimes it was just the anchovies on that pizza!

"The cause of dreams are seven. They are what you have seen, heard, experienced, wish to experience, forced to experience, imagined and by the inherent nature of the body".

A dream is the experience of envisioned images, voices, or other sensations during sleep. Dreams often portray events which are impossible or unlikely in physical reality, and are usually outside the control of the dreamer, (although some people have reported lucid dreaming, breaking the suspension of disbelief and realizing they are dreaming—being sometimes even capable of changing the oneiric reality around them and controling various aspects of the dream). Many people report experiencing strong emotions while dreaming, and frightening or upsetting dreams are referred to as nightmares. The scientific discipline of dream research is oneirology.

Swedenborg said that most dreams in this world are fantastic dreams. However, not all of them. Certainly dreams cannot be trusted that much if he is correct.

In the Bible, there are prophetic dreams and visions but a lot of times they are given to people in actual positions of power like kings. God tries to lead them to do good. Also, God lets good people see the immediate future sometimes or God lets them see people that have passed on.

I know how to interpret in the prophetic style. The Bible Code is nothing more than the spiritual meaning of things. It is in Swedenborg's law of correspondences. I have two correspondences dictionaries from the Swedenborg Foundation.
