I'm too tired to make much sense of anything, but let me give this a shot...

Science and religion work hand in hand.
Same as religion goes through progressive evolution, so does science.

Shucks what was Pluto to Abraham?
What was Mars?
Did Noah know the world was round?
Hey, did Adam know that his decedents would walk on the moon?

Science doesn't cancel religion and religion doesn't cancel science.

Moses' parting of the waters has been explained by science as one of the results of a volcano.
But how did he know to be there, at that moment? How quickly to get his people across?
Science didn't take away from the miracle. it explained how it happened.

Science answers the how.
Religion answers the what.

As for the planet thing, well that has a lot of folks up in arms. Pluto does seem to be the favorite of planets.
Personally, I think it's just details.
But, then again, in science, details make all the difference between a good drink and an explosive chemical combination.

Pluto is still there - and probably will be for an age to come.

The only thing that has changed is the definition of a planet.

Views of certain things in science change, as new discoveries are made. The way things are viewed today are very different from 100 years ago. Things have not changed, we just know more stuff so are able to make more accurate judgments.

I notice this is in the religious section - are you trying to use this as an argument against science?

Science is evolving (pardon the term), new discoveries are being made and every day we learn more about the world around us, through religion, what can you discover about today's world, that you could not 200 years ago? It seems somewhat static to me...

All that has been changed is the classifiaction. It doesnt stop the body being there or orbiting the sun, it doesnt stop its magnetic field having an affect on the universe as a whole. It just meens we learn somthing a little different at school.
and scientists are alays changing the mind as that is the nature of scientific deiscovery and progress. If scientists never changed their minds then we would still all 'know' that the world was flat and the sun revolved around us.

Science is ever evolving ,based on known and learned facts. It changes as more facts are learned.Such as the sun does not revolve the earth,or the earth is flat ,etc. The change of Pluto's status is just one of many.It does not make science wrong.

What ever church lady. People that believe in Christianity, why did they decide to stop the slave trade. It was apparently "right" for hundreds of years why did the Christians change. Because they Finally realized how wrong it was genius.

You're right. In science, if something's wrong you're allowed to fix it. In religion, even if something makes absolutely no sense, you can't do anything about it because it's the "word of God." Even if it involves virgin births or people multiplying food.
