best solution, put the plants where the cats can't get to them. you could also put foil around the base or put lemon peels in them since cats don't like citrus smell or the feel of foil. also they don't like double sticky tape, you can put that around the base

Cyan pepper in the soil works well indoors. Out doors you can put moth balls around your beds. However I have found that the pepper only works with close growing plants and not very well with ivy's. You may want to see just why your cat is eating your plant. He may have a digestive problem and looking for roughage, Have you switched food or have you been feeding him from the table? if so this may be the problem. Or he may be like my cat and just a duffas. Good luck

Go to a gardening shop, a good one not just a little one. Here in sydney theres tims garden and garden magic. They sell stuff called scat cat and similar products that come in sprays or granules. I don't think you can spray directly on to the leaves but you can spray around the area (pot, dirt etc...) and it keeps them away from the area. You have to use it for awhile b4 it works. You can also try putting some tabasco sauce or pepper on your plants but just be careful, we killed one of our plants doing this. Just try a little, we went a little crazy.

spray soapy water on the plants.

put tin foil under the plant pots so they won't get close enough to eat them.

put cayenne pepper in the soil.

get the cats a pot of catnip or cat grass. they should be attracted to that one which will be ok to eat

perhaps try getting an empty plastic spray bottle and filling it with water and adding strongg orange smell to it or a cheap stron perfume to it and spray it on the plants you wish for them to leave alone, it also leaves a nice fragrance around.

also like others are saying, get a catnip plant, they will love that rather than any other plant.

A possibility might be that your cats have some deficiency in their diet. Ensure they have a balanced diet, and they might not eat plants.

Sprinkle with a bit of paprika or pepper. Buy them some catnip to nibble on, they will prefer that
