I am an australian woman and i have been to america. unlike australia usa seems to be a religious nation. could this be the reason why i saw so many americans dressed as buddhist monks, hindu priests, muslims and every kind of religion and sect on earth? Have americans actually converted to these different religions or is it just a passing fad?

must not have been a red state you visited. I am guessing New York, SF or LA. This country accomodates many true believers of many religions but also many areas are intollerant. The biggest state TX has many cultures in its bigger cities and yet for the most part Texans are a very intollerant bunch who are still carrying baggage from the Civil war. Yankees best visit somewhere else cuz it is a place where one might die under mysterious circumstances.
I do not think as a group, we can be classified. Some of not only do not like apple pie we don't much care for mothers either so go figure matee

We aren't having a fad nor are we having a mass conversion. We are a very diverse society that accepts many different people. You can be a Hindu, Muslim or Buddhist priest and an American.

hehe. I somehow like your answer n viewpoint. I think America is a great country *really* i do think Iran is a great country too .And most of the citizen are nice and friendly. Though some may be alil bit more harsh and racist than they should be. They just need to get a new better president or leaders .Which consist of many different races. Then everyone could go along just fine. i'm just saying

All walks of life live in our Country.
So that leaves us with all the other countries beliefs
. When you got every race in on Nation,
your going to have every belief or non belief.
As bad as I hate to say it, it going to be one of our big down falls.
WE are not the Nation Under God , like we used to be, and we have went down hill since his Name is being removed from our Country.

America accepts people from all different religions and nationalities.because we a diverse nation.unlike Australia.they are some of the most racist people i have ever met.i don't think all are racist but too many Australians are.

it must have been the area that you went to because i live in miami florida and you hardly ever see people dressed in religious clothing.
