This is another one of those ridiculous notions dreamt up for people with far too much money. Much like that £100+ burger Selfridges launched recently. Merchants will always dream up clever ways of getting fools to part with their money.

The point of eating marmalade on toast at £77 per slice is to be able to brag: "I sh*t gold! Even if I eat the most normal breakfast. It's True! It's True!"

The point is...you will never know because you can't afford to taste it to decipher the difference between regular cheap marmalade and this expensive marmalade.

There is no 'point' surely that is the point. Although, why would you want to pay more for something just because it has gold in it?!? - Is that ultimate piece of showing off - 'I'm so rich I eat gold ?!??' - King Midas might have done better had he turned everything to edible gold leaf!

I have read the article its for charity.I hope they raise a lotta money.Has for them thinking of marketing it im sure the rich will indulge themselves has for me I hate whiskey so its not for me,mind I could not afford a crumb.Thanks for the info it made good reading.
