what is the best way to drink beer?

gulp it down, sip it, devour it?
personally i like to quaff it, but i consider to gush it in.

It depends on the beer.
A light lager can be gulped down in one go with no problems.
If you were to live in my country you'll find that there are a lot of beers that are made for sipping. Some can even knock you flat if you drink em too fast. I believe beer needs to be treated with the same amount respect as the brewers efforts toward a good product.

If you are a true connoisseur, then pour it into a "beer glass". The glass is specifically shaped to release the carbonation, and enhance the flavor, but not so much as to make it go flat.

Where I come from, we say that beer already comes in a glass.

take a small taste,
hold it in your mouth as you inhale slowly in your nose, ( still smelling it)
swallow,
also, mix in small foods between bites,

draw air across your tounge.
think about what it is you like about it
is it nutty? is bitter, smooth.... think of the textures and tastes....
repeat as often as you want.
( do remember the more you drink, the less you are gonna taste)
