i have 7 free days and have been teaching kindergarten for the past four months here. i would like to do some volunteer work, a school would be great...but anything in the line of rural development in guangdong would be wonderful.

Search the web. There are volunteer teacher sites. However, all schools, except private ones, are closed for 1 week from 1st Oct.
This is the China National day, weeks' holiday.Many people go out of major cities to their home towns. Transport is all full.It's a bad time to travel by bus, train or plane.
Post your details on ESL Teachersboard, and Dave's esl cafe, and a few more. Most are free to do so.Try some private kindergartens in Shenzhen or Guangzhou also.Perhaps the International Red Cross may do with some help?
