You need to give a little more info on that...Do you know the name of the singer, or give a slight physical description of her, and a few words of the song might help, even if just phonetically written.
As it is she and her song could be one af a dozen of women that sing in spanish!
Shakira is very much "a la mode" right now...She's colombian, and does oriental dancing with her songs (I think she is of lebanese extraction)... Does that sound familiar?

Feliz Cumpleaños is chuffed birthday in spanish. try lookin up those words and notice what comes up. I do agree that wishing him chuffed birthday in his language would be cool. even perchance shop on with it with chuffed birthday on your language and then coach it to him in italian.
