tell me why you think the world could be billions of years old?
Its all really a theory right..then why are you all so scared of the creationism "theory"..has anyone of you taken the events from the bible and looked at the earth with an open mind and thought well yes their would have to be a creator..or well there must of been a flood..
Its seems you hide anything that goes against your theory..skeltons found about 12foot tall..sure their skulls where different shapes but isnt it true that your skull and face(nose and ears) never stop growing?so if people were living to be 900 wouldnt that be why?

Evolution is the study of how things adapt to their environment after they have been created. The Floods have been well documented and proven by a different branch of science and other evidence proves that the world is older than the fundamentalist religions say it is. The bible says that a day is like onto a year and a year is like onto a day to GOD.GOD created time for us when He made the Physical universe that we live in now.But so far we have not come up with a good explanation as to what time really is.as it is measured in different ways ( and yes we use the seasons and the revolution around the sun to measure a type of time.).also the number of sunrises and sets that the moon takes to go from full to dark and back to full as a measure of time.
Man invented science to try and explain the how was it done rather than who or what created it.

ok so first of all the Bible is a story, even supposing god exists and he is the one from christian religion the bible was still written by men who didn't have an all seeing eye or anything like that.
second "creationism" is not a scientific theory, scientific theories are based on scientific suppositions, are supported at least by indirect evidence(when direct evidence cannot prove or disprove it), explain how things happened and why and can predict how certain things will happen. creationist is based on the flaws of evolution, its adepts have found numerous ways in which to say why evolution is wrong but none (except the bible which is not scientific proof) in which to prove that creationism is right. it isn't even really a theory in reality, it's just something religious fanatics came up with so they could try to indoctrinate religion into children in biology classes.
i'm not saying evolution theory is perfect, but it's flaws are not fundamental, but a matter of polishing and refining and lack of fossils(which incidentally is something that creationist say must prove that it isn't true, think how many creatures die each day, but how improbable are the conditions in which that creatures fossil would be preserved).

Before you take such an approach, shouldn't you check to make sure your own theory stands up to your tests?
Sure we lack time travel and we can't actually go back and see if ther was or wasn't a flood, and that being so the Great Flood is always a possibility, but science has unearthed evidence (though admittedly not hard proof) that there likely was no flood. And regarding your attempt to explain away fossils of human ancestors, sure some facial features continue to change and grow with age, but those features are not the same features we've seen in these fossils.

Christ on a stick!! how stupid can fundamentalists get. There is proof the earth is millions of years old. Carbon dating of fossils prove it. And as for your nonsense that the world is only 6000 years old, there are trees older than that, and who told you God lived by a 24 hour clock. Nobody lived to be 900 years old. its an impossibility. At the time the bible was written, people only lived 35 years at the most, so anyone who lived to 100 would be considered ancient, they would know their great-great-grand children. That's 5 generations, something that never happened! Why not try to get an education, instead of showing the world your ignorance.

Cabon Dating sweety. But you're too ihabilitated to begin to understand carbon dating. 3.7 BILLION years ago tiny organisms were formed on the earth among the CARBON, NITROGEN, HYDROGEN, and OXYGEN. These were the beginnings of "life forms." Or do you not believe in the elements or the dinosaurs(470 million years ago)?

Creationism: It's certainly an option and theory, but it's not a very logical, rational, or reasonable option. Scientists can't figure out who created the creator. How the "creator" came about is a mystery to you just as it is to me. Mankind has the ability to create things in the mind: Werewolves, Fairies, Santa Clauses, Easter Bunnies, Reindeer with Blinking noses, Elves, Fraggles, Cyborgs, etc etc. It makes much more sense that Mankind would have created the creator as Science proves the existence of the universe from carbon dating, light wavelenths, time lapse hubble photography etc etc.

No one has EVER proved the Creator's existence. So logically I have to believe we came from a ball of mass. As E=mc2 holds true with the universe. The Universe is a vast expansive infinite vacuum formed from a giant ball of light & mass. What has caused this light-mass, we aren't 100%, but we're on a better track than creating false idols to explain and do everything for us.

A good theory needs to facilitate the creation of experiments to help disprove said theory. A theory (such as creationism) places itself beyond the chance of empirical research - therefore is a weak theory.

Evolution carries a great deal of evidence, and other questions it raises can be explored in other branches of science. Theories based on religious faith offer nothing of the same kind.

I really don't know why any such Creator wouldn't have been allowed to use evolution as his tool, mind you, and don't really know how this became so heated, except for political purposes and pandering to certain reactionary groups in this country.

This is for Dan the Man - the anthromorphic principle neatly skewers the "meat grinder in a box" argument that is so very ancient.

I was born into a creationist family. It took years of college and reading about other theories to get it out of my head that I won't burn in hell if I actually believe in something else. If God is so loving why would he let everyone be born in different religeons? Each religeon believes the other is worth dying for. Only man could screw things up so bad. Yes, The bible was written by faulty men. It may have good in it but so do the others. I believe organized religeon only creates more hate.

I guess you'd have to ask yourself if you think the Univerese in imploding on itself or increasingly speeding away from itself to the point where all matter will at some point stretch itself apart and return to nothingness. I believe all things evolve and SuperNova stars are the fundamental building blocks of all elements. That is a story to be discussed via email :)

Peoples skulls do stop growing... We were created larger beings to begin with, but due to our sin, we have lost alot of genetic material.

People believe that wisdom teeth are a sign of evolution because they hurt when they pop up - but skulls found over 800 years ago for example had longer lower jaws and therefore did not have pain or as much pain when wisdom teeth grew. The reason why our jaws are smaller today is because of genetic loss, every generation loses some of its genetic material - therefore we are "devolving".

Just a note; people believe after Adam we were all cave men, Adam was one of the smartest people to ever live. Imagine living 900 years with a near perfect brain, he could remember everything, humans back then used 100% of there brains also, not 11% like we use today.

Imagine the evil that people that smart could get up to before the flood, nowonder they had to be flooded away.

::edit:: btw people who argue carbon dating have no idea of its uses. Carbon dating is used for things no older then 3000 years, or it becomes unreliable RADIOACTIVE dating is what they use to date certain things.

Your statements show a lack of education on the subject. If you truly want to learn about the subject, I would suggest taking a Physical Anthropology class from a local college.

Radiation dating, or isotope dating (not just carbon dating) prove that the earth is billions of years old.
