Am afraid all I can say is ' more fool you' for doing it. I have visions of you being marched down to the tatooist and being forced to drop your pants while she stands over you to make sure you get it done. I would suggest you learn to say no to such unreasonable orders from your girlfriend.

I'm not going to tell you you're being stupid - what tattoo you have is absolutely up to you. But I have to say I don't see a lot of difference between getting a name and getting the word 'forever'. You say you want something that could mean anything if thigns don't work out, but 'forever' really only means one thing, so I don't know if it's really what you're after. The other issue with 'matching' tattoos is that it could be different to come up with a design which meets what both of you are looking for in a tattoo. I know it sounds a bit stereotypical, but men and women do tend to have different tastes in terms of size and design, and trying to find something that you can both have the same seems like it could require one or both of you to compromise rather than getting a design you're really happy with. How about, then, getting tattoos with matching subject matter, without actually having identical images? You could pck a shared interest or something that means a lot to both of you, and then each get your own unique tattoo based around this. (So if, for example, you're both keen birdwatchers, you might each get a different tattoo of a bird; if you met at a drama group you could get tattoos relating to the stage, etc etc). That way you'd have tattoos which relate to one another and your shared commitment, but you also definitely get a tattoo you're personally really happy with, and it isn't obviously about your relationship (although it will symbolise it, to you). I hope that makes sense - have fun getting tattooed!

I'm quite happy for my hubby just to have our kids names tattooed on him but he said he will also do a Chinese symbol for wife for me which I think is great.

you my friend are a total dumb@ss. No one can make you do anything, you obviously chose to do this and your blaming her wanting you to get that tatt because you regret it. No real women would demand her man that she loves to do something that stupid. She's totally insecure in your relationship.

If your question is legitimate you need some professional help. The mental health kind that is. Or are you just plain stupid?

if she got a tattoo of your name (wherever on her body), then she intends on staying with you "forever."
if i was crazy in love, or in sex, then i`d probably WANT to make them do something like that... but not that extreme i guess.
