or am I being too hard on a guy? Every message from him is like decifering a code--missing and misspelled words and grammar so horrible it can give a person a headache! Improper grammar and spelling usage are my pet-peeves! To me, it shows laziness and irresponsibility on his part, two qualities I detest. Am I being fair or am I reading too much into this situation?

I wouldn't date a woman that could not spell. It shows me their education level. Plus it also shows that they are a lazy person if they can't take the time to learn. I always have time for learning.

Well I understand where you are coming from when someone doesn't take the time to improve their grammar, spelling, and so forth, but I think that you may be reading this situation a bit too much. I am not saying that this is okay for the guy to continue the way he writes, but if you find interest in this guy maybe you should help him improve on his writing, spelling, and grammar usage or just have him receive tutoring from school.
Otherwise, if you feel that is totally not to your benefit then yeah, just move on and date someone who is a bit more educated.

sure i will. Dating means knowing that person well not only intellectually but also in other aspects of him as a whole. We cannot really judge him for being lazy or what, some people were not as lucky as we are to spell and talk grammatically correct and with a very good accent...things like that! Try to be fair and be understanding to those people.

How shallow! If you really feel that way, do the guy a favor and don't date him.
In the future, you should interview any boy who asks for a date and include a written test. If he doesn't pass your standards, tell him he is lazy and irresponsible.

i think the issue on grammar and spelling must not be a big deal. it's accepting what he has or hasn't. some people are really poor on spelling ang grammar but that must not be a basis of his personality. Well if you really like him... learn to accept that imperfection. If you really can't stand that thing in him... well maybe you shud give your attention to someone else

After reading your profile, I've determined you didn't deserve that smartass answer I gave you. I once fell for a beautiful girl that was dumb as a rock. After a while I just couldn't stand the stupidity. I wound up marrying a girl with a brain. I'm much happier.

Come on mamma it all depends on how he make you feel and treats you if that is a good thang hell yeah date him don't cheat ya self because he flunked spelling . Help him out and see what blessings come out of it , believe me there will be a blessing if you do it out the kindness of your heart remember you reap what you sow so be kind and receive your blessings ma if you think it's worth it
