I know, adults have been asking you what you want to be when you grow up for so long that you figure you should have an answer by now. Never mind, child; it will happen as it is supposed to happen in its own good time.

If you already know it is somewhere in the health professions you want to be, then you have all the detail you need for now. Most students have only vague ideas of what doing a particular career is really like, anyway, so take your time. Gradually, a direction, a focus will emerge from which classes you like best, and which ones you do well (usually the same ones; not always). Something, some area of study or something in the popular press or something someone else tells you about will grip you, and you will pursue it.

Don't get ahead of yourself. It doesn't pay.

Live in Africa. You can be a volunteer doctor for research projects in Africa.

Or maybe some other place in the world (South America, Asia).

Bottom line is: You have endless possibilities. And you shouldn't limit your options.
