it doesn't matter whether Jesus was burned or nailed, the important thing is that we follow his teachings.

I don't see the relevance of this.
What do the Scriptures say? They don't describe any burning. The crucifixion is described in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Is there any reference to burning?
To accept the basic story of the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ the first thing you have to believe is that God can work miraculous things. Christ's birth was a miracle, as were events in his life and his resurrection. If you accept this concept there is no suggestion of blasphemy in the story of his being nailed to the cross--in fact Scriptures say that was what happened.
I don't know if I would even go so far as to say the suggestion he was burned was blasphemous, but it is unscriptural.
Jesus died for our sins. He went on to prepare a place for us in Heaven. That is what Christianity is all about.
I'd say you can blow off a lot of the theoretical debate. It's just a lot of conjecture, and not worth spending much time on.
At least one of the Gospel accounts is believed to be an eyewitness account.

According to Christian scripture Jesus was crucified in the traditional Roman method of execution for criminals.
Romans nailed criminals to the cross. They also burned many of their victims, but burning was used more as a taunt. Burning a victim ended much more quickly than a crucifixion.
Crucifixion was used because it was a slow and painful death. It often took days for the crucified ones to die. Jesus, according to Christian scripture, died on the same day that he was crucified.
We should not accept that our Lord was burned because that theory negates the suffering that He endured on the cross.
To consider that He was burned is to say that His sacrifice was without passion.
Jews did not cremate. Jesus was a Jew. He was buried. His ashes were not spread.
No.
As Christians we should not accept that Jesus was burned.

The Bible says he was crucified with nails. It makes no mention of his being burned. It expressly says that Jesus was taken off the cross, wrapped in burial linens, and buried in a borrowed tomb.
If God thought that it was necessary to have Jesus burned in order to prove something he would have been burned. And if God wanted to prove something by doing this it would be mentioned in the Bible. Otherwise it would be a complete waste of time and would prove nothing.
The people who wrote the description of his death and resurrection were the actual witnesses to it. That means that they described what they saw.
Don't be swayed by every weird and mystical philosophy that comes down the pike. Read the Bible, then you can know what really happened.

God's Word, the Bible, says that He was nailed. Also this was prophcied hundreds of years earlier, that He would be pierced. God is not limited to resurrecting burn't bodies. He will resurrect all people, no matter how they died, some to eternal life and some to eternal shame. If God has to disintegrate a body first, then the Holy Ghost will do it. The Bible says that we can have the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead live inside us. It is not what you know or believe that saves us, it is the Holy Ghost living inside of us that saves us and transforms us. You MUST be "Born Again!" God must remove your spirit and replace it with Himself, and then you must be obedient to God.

Jesus was nailed and here is something to back it up with, when he was not found where they had put him after He was nailed to the cross and died, the disciples heard of this and one said, "I will not believe that He is alive until I see Him" then Jesus came to him and showed him His hands where the nails were put and took his hand and had him feel where they cut His side and Jesus said, "now do you believe?" and he said "my Lord, my God" this just shows you that God will meet you where you are at so you will understand and believe that He is real!!

He was nailed to the cross. For starters it says they crucified him at 9am (Mark 15:25), and he died at 3pm (Mark 15:34). It would not take 6 hours to burn to death. Secondly when He appeared to the disciples after He rose from the dead and they told Thomas, Thomas said "Unless I see the scars of the nails in His hands and put my finger in those scars and my hand in his side I will not believe"(John 20:25)
Im not sure where you get your information but you should perhaps read the bible yourself and if your church is not biblically based find a new one.

Wow, you are the only person I have ever met with this 'theoretical debate'.
In the times of Jesus, being nailed to a cross was the punishment de jour. Nailed that is, not burnt.

Jesus was nailed to the cross. It was the Romans favorite form of execution because it took so long to die. But in the case of Jesus, he was beaten so severely that no man had ever gone to the cross after a beating like he had. The bible tells us that he was not recognizable, That is why they did not have to break his legs, he did not last that long, but He suffered plenty for us. I love Jesus and what he did for me, don't you?

He was definitely nailed to the cross. Read the prophecies...they all say what will happen, especially Isaiah 53. And the reason He was nailed to a wooden cross, is because it was the biggest disgrace of the time.
But the true meaning is more spiritual than he physical part of the suffering. He was suffering in our place, bruised and tortured for our sins(mine and yours). HE WHO KNEW NO SIN WAS MADE SIN FOR US.... He was the spotless lamb of God, who willingly died because we broke God's holy law. The ten commandments...
Who can say that he/she hasn't stolen, lied, blasphemed(God's name in vain), lusted(adultery within our heart), dishonored our mother and father, put God first place in everything, coveted something that didn't belong to us, hated someone(murder within the heart)??? We all fall short of the glory of God. God's holy wrath was poured out on His own son for my sake and your sake. Repent and put your trust in Him.
sorry for the long answer, but the prophets have always written everything down to the last detail...even for how much money Judas was to betray Jesus.
