My Husband is an officer in the Army of the 1st CAV div. Armor brach. He is a tank platoon leader, and he just found out in a matter of 2 days that his deployment was moved from Dec. 06 to Nov 15 06, to Nov 05 06, now to the end of Oct 06. He said that by going sooner rather than later they're going to Bagdhad instead of some other place I can't remember the name of. He "tells" me it is one of the "better" and "safer" places to deploy to now. But, I hear so many bad things about Bagdhad. Is he just saying these things to me to make me feel better, because I'm really scared and sad.

Ma'am,
Far be it for me to dispute your husband; he is probably concerned about you needlessly worrying. I am currently in Bagdad myself - and it is a dangerous place - but most places in Iraq tend to be in dangerous.

Now let me reassure you - I used to be a Tank Platoon Leader myself. As a Tank Platoon Leader, your husband is in the Safest Army Vehicle we have. There is no better vehicle to be in.

I have been here for nearly 9 months; and have travelled almost entirely in a HUMVEE. Tens of thousands of people have come and gone from this theater. Your husband will be fine; he has received the best training in the world. It is normal to be concerned - but don't worry. Just pray for and encourage him.

Please edit your personal information: You are in violation of Operations Security. Remember the old adage "Loose Lips Sink Ships." You are helping the enemy, and endangering the life of your husband and his Soldiers.

Um...if he's in a tank, he's already one up on the infantrymen. But, Bagdhad isn't a horrible place, just be calm, and take it in stride, and pray for his safe return. That's all I can give you. On your scale it's about a 4 or 5...but then again, it doesn't matter where he is, while he's over there it's all a dangerous place. Good luck and God speed. And, what you have said in the paragraph is not kosher, you need to edit it and get rid of his MOS, deployment times, and his Division...

I would rate it 7~8.

Although I am not in the military nor in the defense business, I am a military enthusiast and I contact many info on war issues.

It depends on what your husbands role in the military is, and what division/ what his bosses expect his platoon to do, but as long as he is is stationed in Bagdahd, there threat exists.

It is not like war world war, where hundreds or thousends die every day. But it is rather a long guerilla war, so anything could happen.

Unfortunatelly, there is a possiblility your husband is saying it to make you feel better.

But I would not worry much anyway. Why? This is not a major scale war. There are some attacks, but only to limited amount of people and the U.S. army casualty is small (although it is fierce.)

Well you said he is a platoon leader so I am assuming he is a LT. So he'll probably roll out with his platoon on a regular basis. Baghdad ain't the safest place to be in Iraq but it's better than Ramadi. Just try not to worry too much and I'm sure he'll be fine. At least he isn't rolling in an 1114(hopefully)

worst place now most likely Ar Ramadi but a tanker has alot less chance of dieing then a foot soldier so dont be too worried. and another thing i wouldnt post deployment dates out like that its bad for us good for the enemy to know when units are changing

properly, i would be truthful with you and that i will attempt to make it ordinary. As Muslims we believe in Judaism and Christianity. We believe in Jesus and Mary yet we do no longer believe in trinity. Jesus for Muslim is purely a sacred human and a messenger of god who replaced into commemorated to be without father. despite if Christians bypass to heaven or hill purely we believe that all and sundry the Christians earlier Mohammed (the final messenger of God) will bypass directly to heaven. yet after the Islam regarded which replaced into approximately six hundred years after Jesus. We believe that it extremely is the final faith and all the human beings could desire to stick to that faith to be waiting to decide for heaven. properly, some human beings will say we've not heard approximately Islam so why we deserve hill, As Muslim actual we are uncertain of that simply by fact between the god features is the finished fairness and that recommend no you will blame those human beings. So on the tip the sturdy human beings could desire to bypass to heaven and the undesirable could desire to bypass to hill.

well we know you are concerned about your husband but what you just said is in all honesty its kind of a breach of OPSEC and he could get in trouble, but if he is riding heavy he is going to be relatively safe, compared to others. his is going to have Burger King, Taco bell, a really big PX, swimming pools, movie theaters, the whole works. but he could be in worst places doing worst jobs
