You would have to give a LOT more information in order to get any valid advice on this topic.
Is he brain dead? In a coma? On life support? Suffering from a terminal illness? What is his prognosis with the treatment? Are there alternative treatments?

Kill the old geezer off. Its all about you, ya know? He has nothing to offer you except a big medical bill, so go pull the plug on him. Remember, there is nothing left after your life here, so if you can't enjoy it, whats the point. Kill him off, get the inhieritence, and go to Maui for a while. And just in case, have a living will for yourself so that when your time comes and you are in the same position, you won't have some idiot asking advice from total strangers over the internet.

As your father if you can what he would like you to do. And abide by his wishes.Other wise you will have to have a long chat with your self and go over thins and hints that he may have dropped on what he would want done in this situation.Just try and not let any thought of personal monetary gain you would gain by stopping the treatments cloud your decision.

I wouldn't want my children to have to pay for years just so I could have a few more days of life. I would like to think I'd be more scared for their future then of my inevitable death. But, I may have a way different perspective on the matter when I'm on my death bed. Who knows?
You should talk to him about it, if at all possible. I don't know what else to tell you then that. Just keep in mind, one day it will be your turn to die, so show as much consideration as you would like to be shown for you.

If you are letting your father die because of the MONEY, and not out of consideration for his pain and suffering, then you are wrong.
You can get more money. YOu only have one father. Canning him because of the bill is extremely cold-hearted.
EDIT: for the MONEY?!? I'd accept any reason you put forth, even if you said you hated him. But for the money? Yikes...*scuttles off to invest*

it is really a moral question.
Alot of old folks knows these and they will understand and has accepted that your pockets would run dry in a losing battle with medical bills.

The love of money is the root of ALL evil, particularly when a child would allow his father to die because of it.
Your father is not a pet that just needs to be "put down" because it is too expensive to seek medical attention.
Please just rethink your question that should have never even been asked.

If it is legal to stop it in your situation, you probably are not wrong to do so. But, consider that you do not inherit debt. Once he dies, all his bills go away as far as you are concerned.

Seek alternatives for help. He's your one and only father. Don't listen to the advice of others.
