definitely hands down to efren "the magician" reyes...

he just recenlty won the biggest prize in the history of pool

Stephen Hendry MBE- 7 world snooker championships! Joe Davis won 15 back in the day, but I just don't think the level of competition was the same as now-a century was incredibly rare back then. I don't intend to disrespect 9 ball or other games, but snooker is the only cue sport that has had one consistently recognized world title over the long. There's just no equivalent of the Crucible Theater for pool.

My personal favorite is Cliff Thorburn though, just because I'm Canadian.

Willie Mosconi----b.1913 d.1993.Best known American billiards player from Philadelphia.He won the U.S.states pool championship 18 times between 1941--1956.Another famous billiard player--Minnesota Fats was a favorite American contender who often played in tournaments with Mosconi,but never won!
