Why not, does he not stay at his mom's sometimes. If he does you have nothing to worry about. If he never does, then you may. Why not call him there and see if he answers. Then you will know for sure.

Has your boyfriend ever given you a reason not to trust him? If he did call his house and just tell him you miss him. If the mother doesn't know you then ask if he's there and tell her you are a friend. If he's not there she'll tell you, then......use your imagination on that, the words will flow with the conversation. If he is there she will call him to the phone.
