The eye is a little weepy. How do I clean it without hurting the eye.
It is on the corner not on the eyeball itself.

If the eye is a little weepy, then the cut is too close for hydrogen peroxide or salty water. Makes my eyes burn just to think about it! Whew! If the dog does have a scratch on the eyeball, you could seriously injure it.
If you're sure the eyeball isn't injured (sometimes those tiny scratches are impossible for us to see until they're a big problem), a dab of neosporin would do on the cut.
If you aren't sure about the injury, however, I'd let a vet check him out. There are some good medications in droplet form that shouldn't be too expensive and will help the healing process go faster and with fewer complications.
Being a dog, your lab may be rubbing that eye, too, which will keep it irritated.

Just keep the area clean with some Hydrogen Peroxide.Do not bandage, the open air will help it heal much quicker.Seek a vet if it does not seem to be healing after a couple of days.Dogs can weather some serious wounds rather easily.Thanks for your concerns about your pet.I love Labs

I would "NOT" use any peroxide, soap or salty water that close to his eye. If either got in his eye that is going to sting, and hurt him! I would keep the area clean, with water, and if you are able to then apply a small amount of antibotic ontiment on it. If it doesn't start healing or looking any better then I would suggest taking him to the vet to get checked out.
Just remember dogs are like humans, don't do anything to your dog, that you wouldn't want done to yourself! If the wound looks too deep though, you may want to consider having it looked at, it may need a stitch or two. Just keep a eye on him, and if it doesn't look like it's healing then get him checked out!!

For a small abrasion - leave unbandaged to allow cleaning and observation.

Clean it with warm water, dab a little neosporin on it. Just keep an eye on it for infection.

Since it's near the eye I'd take him to the vet. You don't want to mess up his eye by getting solution in it. If you do take it upon yourself to fix it, be very careful. Good luck!!

yes, because a scratch is a open laceration and an infection is possible
this happen to my dog and the vet gave him an optical antibiotic ointment and now he's all well

take ur dog immedietly to a vet or he can have severe infection

RINCE EYE WITH CLEAR WATER. TRY A CLEAN SQUIRT BOTTLE MAYBE. LEAVE IT TO A LAB! NO SUPPRISE THERE :)
