Further, the alcoholism resulted in serious spousal abuse. He was appearently a mean drunk and did very bad things to Laura. Also I was told he executed more men as govenor of Texas than any state has evey executed, going clear back to the beginning of the country. Several of these men were mentally retarded and many more had pending DNA evidence that would have exhonerated them, yet he went on with the executions.Most were black. Is any of this true? If so, why is he the president of the United States?

Uhmm... I think he is the president 'cause many people decided to re-elect him. Texans love their death penalty law, at least the mayority. It doesn't seem to bother the majority the mental condition of the offender, if a jury finds him guilty, they say, kill him too... (Isnt that lovely?) Yes, Bush is an alcoholic. I have read he was stopped driving drunk once. I dont know about the rest of the stuff ( spousal abuse, mean drunk). What is your source?

I guess he got the DUIs because he wasn't a Kennedy and therefore had to take a field sobriety test whenever he was out drinking. As someone else pointed out, Texans are fond of their death penalty. I guess it's better than here in Michigan, where if you escape from jail during your life without parole sentence and kill someone while you're on the run, they just change it to you're never, ever gonna get out. He is the President of the United States because he got the most votes from the electoral college.

i havent heard anything about the abuse, but the rest of it is true. bush is an idiot, but keep in mind he is human. when people are younge and immature, they do stupid things...its normal. now, im NOT justifying his complete lack there of in leading a country, and regarding the executions, texas has the most executions in one year than any state- by a long run. texas just issues out executions as if life has no value. the reason he is president is because people didnt care enough to really look into the potential candidates, they watched right wing media stations like fox and voted for whoever could convince the country better. most people voted bc he had "experience" from his dad...... whatever....all i know is that bush is an idiot. haha

You really ought to stop spreading these vicious rumors. and simply believe the truth that the Lord has helped GW to get over his addiction to alcohol, and has changed the lives of GW and his Family. The President is a born again Christian. And it would not hurt you to say a prayer for the President.

He is president because people like you didn't vote against him, and you're pawns to the two party system, mere puppets for the government.
There is no evidence suggesting he abused his wife, Laura. His DUIs were expunged.
