I have the same problem with my chihuahua, a groomer at petsmart told me that i should touch her feet other times than just grooming time so she'll get used to it. My dog still hates it, but i do the trimming myself cause she really really hates going to the groomer. But maybe while you're trimming the nails give your dog little breaks so its not that hard on them, also the muzzle might be a little too much and making the whole situation a lot more uncomfortable than it has to be, and your dog could be associating nail trimming as a horrible experience. As for meds, slip it into some food and just keep trying until they take their medicine.

Try emailing the dog whisperer he is a total genius and if you live in LA you might even be able to set up a meeting with him! You can also try using another person aka spouse! There is actually an episode of this exact problem on the dog whisperer first season! The name of the episode is called "Buddy the Biter" if you have Netflix try getting it! Also if you dont have netflix they will give a 2 week free trial! Hope this helps!

When you are trimming his nails, just clip the sharp tips.Any further you may be clipping into a nerve. You can mash and powderize his meds and put them into some can food.I have two small dogs and have no problems with them when it comes to baths, meds, and grooming.Try to do these things at set times. Then they will get used to these things because it will be expected without being surprised.Good luck!

If the muzzle doesn't work try the vet... They can either give you an oral sedative or an injection of telazol. Or get a friend or neighbor to help hold (w/ the muzzle on of course) and do all the work that way.

Chamomile tea works very well, and is safe for him.
Dump it out of the teabag, and use 1 teaspoon for small breed, Mix it in a little canned food, such as Mighty Dog, or Cesar's, and give about 30 minutes before he needs to relax. It will keep him happy, but reduce stress. It can be given as needed.

WEAR GLOVES AND BE FIRM . HE MAY STRUGGLE BUT HE WONT HURT HIMSELF. OR TRY USING A "HOLDER WITH GLOVES SO BOTH YOUR HANDS ARE FREE. AND YOU WEAR GLOVES AND IF HE CAN BITE WITH A NUZZLE ON ITS NOT ON RIGHT OR TIGHT ENOUGH. "THE FORCE IS WITH YOU. ALSO TRY VALERIAN ROOT IF YOU CAN GET IT IN HIM. I LIKE TO HIDE PILLS IN A HOT DOG SLICE.SO HE DOESNT DETECT IT YOU GIVE HIM A THIN SLICE EMPTY FIRST THEN THE PILL IN A THICKER SLICE THEN HOLD A THIRD PIECE IN FRONT OF HIS FACE RIGHT AFTER THE PILL SLICE AND HE WONT CHEW THE PILL SLICE VERY WELL IN A HURRY TO GET SLICE #3.!
