Initially, mine was given high doses of Pred and Azathioprine, and then weaned off to a more reasonable dose of Pred.

I don't know how much you know about this disease, but it has a very high mortality rate. But there are dogs that recover and never have any more problems with it. I lost a girl to it. I had her for another year after diagnosis, with a couple bad relapses in that year.

It has been almost 4 years since she died, I still miss her terribly.

One of my neighbors dog has it . She was on prednisone,well still is but only a very small dose now . She seems fine.
