I swear that I did not inhale! Do you hear me! I did not inhale! Nevertheless, it would be impossible to make pot or other drugs legal now, and not because it would put the drug dealers out of business, and maybe even their other illegal businesses, and probably go a long way in keeping drugs out of the hands of children. No, not that at all, or even the tax revenues that might help defer the cost of health care in this country, not to mention all the money saved on the jails and prisons that would suddenly be empty. No, not even that would make the legalization of drugs possible because it would cause a depression. Since the institution of the war on drugs, this country has developed enormous bureaucracy's at every level of government. There are hundreds of thousands of highly paid drug enforcers all over the country and the world for that matter that need their paycheck, need their health care, and need their retirement. Even more importantly, the drug dealers need the drug enforcers to keep the price up. I'm sure a lot of the profits from drugs gets pumped back into politicians pockets, churches, anywhere it can find a self righoutous ear to keep the battle going. The tragety of it all is that until drugs are legalized and classed as they should be, our schools will remain full of the most dangerous kind, and the children of this land will suffer. The polititions and drug dealers don't care. Their kids go to private schools, often in other countries.

I do and then tax the crap out of it the way they do with tobacco. At least that way there would be some control over the sale of it and the government would be collecting some tax $$ to offset the costs incurred from the medical and law enforcement involvement.

not until there's a good roadside test. I don't need a stoner plowing me down in the crosswalk. when there's a reliable test, go ahead & legalize.
