yes maybe this should be in the religious section, but just this april and not only then i have been close to death so many times you would think that i would have gotten the picture by now. but i had pnuemonia, not to mention really bad asthma and a neuromuscular disease. myasthenia gravis. so i was in icu for a month and i layed in that bed just knew i was gonna go this time. i cried out to God and said this is it this time huh? not scared to go but that my kids would be here without me. i almost gave up hope then i just prayed and left it in his hands. cause the staff there wasnt acting like they wanted to see me living. bad care and that is the worst. when you are dealing with a chronic illness and you know every now and then you will be in the hospital, but that the staff are devils in their own clothing not disquise cause they show their true blues. but imagining not being able to breath and wanting that breathe to come in and out and depending on a human to care enough to help you get to a machine that can help you. very very scary.

Yes, I have fibromyalgia, and for 7 months I could not even get a diagnosis. One Dr. even told me I had become so inactive I was "vegetating" and needed to make myself go. I went to Md. who sent me to a Psychiatrist who told me yes, I have depression, because I had been very sick for 4 months with no relief. With the fibromyalgia I had such severe fatigue that walking through the house was so exhausting, I became short of breath and often had chest pains, as if I had run a hard race. Few people believed me. The pain with th fibromyalgia was as if I woke up one morning with the flu, hurting in all my muscles and joints, and months later it was no better. I really began to think I wa going to die before anyone could help me. Most tests were a little abnormal, but none so much to explain how sick I was. I finally found an internest who had done extra research on fibromyalgia and how to treat the symptoms, and very slowly I started to improve. Now I have days that are almost normal. I live life on a day to day basis, and I am glad for the blessings of each day.

It sounds like you have some kind of autoimmune disorder, considering how easy you get sick and the chronic fatigue. Look up more information on fibromyalgia since chronic fatigue is often a symptom of fibromyalgia, and if your Dr. doesn't take you serious, find another Dr.

I had flu so bad one time, complcated with pneumonia, that I really didn't think I would survive and at one point wasn't sure I wanted to. I have asthma and lupus so it isn't always easy to treat something like this so the worry is real. And yes, now I get a flu shot every year without fail.

It's funny but the one time I came close to dying from food poisoning, I wasn't really thinking about not making it because I was not rational due to an extremely high fever. In fact, I thought it was cold and was trying to cover myself with blankets when found. I was loaded into a cool bath and after a few minutes when my temperature was checked it was still 105.

Chronic illness is draining on you, but it sure makes you appreciate the good days.

Yes, in 2001, I came down with what I thought was the flu and the Dr. gave me a couple of prescriptions, which I was taking as directed within 24 hours I was beginning to feel better, (as a general rule I take the antibiotics for at least three days), by the second day I was feeling lousy again, by the third day I was unable to reach the medicine I was so sick, so I didn't take it for two days and got to feeling much better, come to find out I was allergic to the antibiotic that I was taking. As if that wasn't enough, I discovered that I also had another problem so the Dr. put me in the hospital for three days for testing. He couldn't find a problem, but I kept getting worse and he put me on four different types of pain killers, which made me sleep all the time, Finally, I decided that I would not live like that and stopped taking all the pain killers so that I could get my life back together. Come to find out I had fibromyalgia and it had hit me hard. I have since learned to live with it (not by choice) and I do what I have to in order to survive. Fibromyalgia is simular to chronic fatigue but with pressure points and degenertive muscle diease with no cure, that is why I was given all those pain killers, but I didn't know it at the time. During the summer I feel much better because I don't go to bed hurting and I don't always get up hurting, but during the real cold months I hurt constantly, but like I said I learned to live with it.
Good Luck with your problems, I hope you are feeling much better!

Yes. I had a nasty cold, with a high fever (102) for about 3 days. Never thought I would get over it. I was very happy when I did.
What you need to do is find something that you enjoy doing, start a hobby. It will keep you healthy. Also, being in a good mood helps, too

I was going to answer this question with a yes...(I had mono and some weird stuff was going on with me and I wasn't sure what it was at the time)..... but after reading the whole question, no, I've never been so sick as you have been. And I'm thankful that I have not. Kind of puts it into perspective for me. I truly do hope you get your health back.

:)

yes, I did. Just as you, in 7 years I had 2 surgeries, a lot of antibiotics and shuts and so on... But I have tried homeopathy. It is a new way of treatement, which doesn't try to combat the symptoms of your disese, but tries to amplify them, in order to make your body combat the health problem. It costs a bit, but, trust me, it worth much.
