I want to get some subwoofers for my Jeep Grand Cherokee. And I was wondering what would be the best size, I was thinking about getting some 10" kicker L7s, because of how fast the bass hits with metal music, I thought 12" or 15" would have to long of a bass response, and it would miss beats. If anyone has any idea about a good size, and a good sub, please respond, and list a good amp for the subs too.

i listen to alternative and rock/metal ...it doesnt matter really on the subs ...two 8's, 10s', or 12s' will be fine ... personally i like 2 -12s' in the trunk with a passive eq up front to adjust level and crossover for different songs ... then to me personally if your really into this kind of music you need about 100watts on 4 or 6 6X9s to get the most out of it ... the subs in the trunk will compliment the metal but imo its almost a necessity to be able to adjust the level and crossover freq using somthing like a pioneer passive eq under the dash .... its not like that pounding monkey music that just louder thumps is better .. the base has to be controlled so it compliments and doesnt overtake the rest of the music.

I actually think the smaller the better. Go with a couple of 8's, the bass will be very tight like drum bass instead of electronic made beats. For heavy heavy electronic bass, I would go bigger the better.

Go to a car audio place, they should have 8's in a premade bandpass box as well as 10, 12 and so on. Look for JL Audio bandpass boxes, they're awesome stuff

yeah, go with some 8s or 10s but get 2 for better sound. since you are getting smaller subs that are generally cheaper you should step up to a higher quality sub like diamond audio or mb quartz, a good brand known for their quality and build because in rock you need a higher level of sql than with just the loud bang of rap. just do some comparisons before you buy. good luck

I use 2 JL audio 15'w32 and 2 10'w6 duel voice coil speakers with 1mtx 1500watt amp mono class D on my 15s and 1 5oo watt JL audio 5oo watt amp on my 10s. and believe me if you play metallica on this system it moves the hair on your arms. sometimes because of the two speaker sizes you may have to run them out of phase.

12s sound good, but 10s will sound tighter. if you listen to metal i would sugest not buying kicker, and getting either boston accoustis, a g210 would be great, or mb quart.

12", probable ported, truly doesnt count number in case you dont desire them to take heed to you coming, and then if so some larger high quality 10" may furnish you with the outcomes you want, counting on the song you pay interest to
