GNC has a supplement called "Nourishair" that makes the hair grow faster, you can read what's in it by googling it. Be warned these pills are HUGE and you have to take 2 a day.
Also ProCaps labs sells a "hair skin and nails" formula that does the same thing, supports hair growth and health, and is smaller and easier to swallow.
If you take only Biotin alone, make sure you take at least 2.5 milligrams or 2500 micrograms [the same thing] a day because thats' a good amount to take. I use the Nourshair supplement from GNC now and my hair is growing faster than it did, but it took about 6 to 8 weeks of daily use to see results

Go to longhairlovers web site and order the product called Thicken up. Of course this stuff isn't just for long hair,you can use it on any legnth of hair. If you don't want to order that stuff, try some of the Garnier products, like the mousse and root lifter. I wouldn't do the perm or body wave, that can really damage your hair,I don't think you want to trade one problem for the other.Good luck

How dark is your hair? If is fairly dark and not fragile a light perm can help. Other than that any alkaline shampoo may make the hair shaft a little thicker, but that is all it can do.
If your hair is light, consider going darker.

Volumizing shampoo and conditioner. Also strategically placed highlights can make your hair appear thicker.

I had the same problem like you.Only use a good shampoo and a good product to put on your head skin and as alternative use aloe vera(the plant) I beg your pardon for my bad english
