Why do people care so much if my dog takes a poop outside in an open field but then say nothing about all the trash laying around ? At least the poo will disappear after it rains.

Have you or your kids (if you have any) ever stepped in it? It is so gross and Stinky to clean off your feet and shoes. Dogs are also prone to getting a disease by the name of parvo which is from the feces of dogs. There are also other disease which could hurt an unsuspecting dog. It also smells if everyone did not pick up after their dog. Once you start doing it, you really do get used to picking up.

What kind of field are we talking about? At some rugged park off the trail? Use a stick and scoop it up under a bush. But if you're in a park where people are playing and stuff, why not carry it to a trash can? Imagine 50 dogs a day. 50 piles of crap to step and slip and sit in.

If every dog did their poop outside just imagine what it would be like trying to take a stroll without stepping in a mess......a responsible dog owner will pick up after their dog.......
As for rubbish if caught littering there are fines and penalties involved......would you prefer the authorities introduce this method to dog owners..........

Stepping on a chip bag isn't half as disgusting as dog droppings. The bag wouldn't smell nearly as bad on a warm day, either.

True, liter is a definite problem as well. If we'd make a habit of cleaning up after ourselves and our pets, things would be much nicer.

Because dog waste can cause major health problems and most people don't pay attention to where they are stepping or playing. It also attracts flies and they carry the germs everywhere.

Well......
Dogs can carry worms and illnesses like Parvo and Distemper which are transmitted through feces......... so people don't want to chance your dogs problems coming back to their dogs.

Just pick up after your dog.... not only is it the neighborly thing to do.... but it is morally and hygienically correct!

Cause I don't know what vaccinations you have given to your dog. Poop can carry all kinds of parasites including giardia, worms, and of course the ever dreaded parvo. All of which I would not like my dog to be around. Please clean up your and your dogs poop.

dog poo makes the grass grow faster and they don't want to have to mow it more than they do now

I don't know. That's a good question. But its totally different when your dog does it on someone's property. Only then can I see someone getting upset.
