It is interesting that all the people that claim in Yahoo! the American culture is respectful, follows it with a disrespectful comment to the Latinos. So, these responders are not very bright and can not to realize that their words are the best proof of the fallacy of their comments. They probably have never traveled abroad, and if they have, they are probably one of those people everyone here in Europe points fingers at because their behavior is so ethnocentric and disrespectful and cant even speak a word of the local language, yet expect everyone to treat them like royalty because they have a US passport. They cant even make their point without being right down racist about it. How pitiful! And how unfortunate that other educated Americans get judged in the world for the actions of the former ones.
In The USA, the biggest differences are between socio-economic groups and not culture. Latino children as well as Anglo-saxon, most watch MTV, want the brand clothes, eat burgers, and so on. It depends on what lifestyle they can afford and their parents upbringing. Bigger differences are found in different age groups, economic status, education level.

As long as our borders remain wide open, the differences are disappearing every day. American culture cannot stand against the Latino culture being hurled at it at such a tremendous rate. Once all the Mexicans are in America though, I just might move to Mexico, as it is a beautiful country and all of the poverty and crime will be gone.

Para mà que lo mas fundamental debe ser alguna cosa en cuanto al grado de la obligacion del individuo al grupo y vice-versa...aunque en ciertas cosas se le permite mas al individuo latino...o por lo menos al individuo Argentino.
Seems to me like the most fundamental must be somethin bout the degree of an individual´s obligation to the group and vice-versa...though in some things the Latino individual (at least the Argentine individual) is more tolerated and respected.

American culture is all about individualism and consumerism. As long as the tummy is full, the American is happy. Latino culture is about enjoying life-getting toghether, having fun...sth more denuine , not just showing off your social status as in US.
But you have Latino culture in the US. In fatc USA is a quilt of different cultures. There are entire areas where you won't hear English, and that's America too. It's about freedom of thought and expression, that's what some people here seem to forget.

There is no American culture, just greed. Latino culture centers primarily on family and the family group.
