I would like to give myslef the opportunity to find a partner who is interested in a commited relationship.
I am open to the possibility of giving this 'friend' a chance to want the friendship to grow, but I think they only want the T&A. It's alot of fun, but I want more for myself.

Honesty IS the best policy. Plus you are right to put yourself 1st.
This relationship sounds like it's a mutual one of convenience, & has probably run it's course.
What's the right thing to say to him?
Well I liked the part about how you are looking to "Find a partner who is interested in a committed relationship".
As well as wanting to give your friend a chance to "Want the friendship to grow".

By saying those things to him, you are honestly declaring your expectations for a future relationship with him, plus you are giving him a choice he can make for himself to either join in & be a part of your future or not.

There is a danger here though. Don't put your life on hold at this time waiting years & years for HIM to make up HIS mind. Let him know, you are at the cross roads now, & NOW is the time to decide.

Good Luck!

Give him the chance and put aside your assumptions, or explain that the current arrangement is no longer working and you ":just want to be friends".

But fair warning: His feelings will not change. You will still have him in your life, and he will watch you allowing this other guy to enjoy what he used to enjoy.
It's really hard to go back once you've crossed the line, and if jealousy rears its head, you may lose both.

Do what you've gotta do, but remember: you're not the only factor here.

Hey buddy, glad we are friends, but the benefits are over. Just be honest, that is always the best way to maintain friendships.

I think if its friends with benefits, you can just end the benefits. If there is a problem with that, then perhaps the other person had more on their mind than just physical things.

it's kind of hard to turn back now that you've allready been giving up the snapy dug out,but I think you should just call him or her and tell them that you would like to be friend's and if anything change's maybe you guy's can start off where you left off .If he doesn't understand that then cut him or her off.

Just tell them, the truth. Say that you are now interested in a commited relationship, but thanks for the fun you had.

YOU NEED TO BE HONEST WITH HIM AND LET HIM KNOW
THAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR MORE OF A COMMITED
RELATIONSHIP, AND HOPE THAT HE WANT THE SAMED
IF NOT THEN IT TIME TO MOVE ON.
