when walking keep the leash at your side (pick the side most comfortable to you) walk her and if she goes to fast just stop and give a gentle tug on the leash until she stops. When she stops and is paying attention to you go ahead and let her start walking again. The best way for this to work is to teach the Heel command first. The pee and poo is an easy fix. Get some pee pads, and put them in the spot where she usually goes. When she uses put a new one down. When she gets used to the pads start gradually moving them toward your door. When you get to your door put the pad outside on the grass. at this point take her out about every hour if possible and she should learn that she needs to go outside to do her business.

Don't give in!!! I know she probably acts like a baby about it, yelping and all that stuff. When she goes the wrong way, make an AAT AAT sound and tug on the leash - when she walks where she should, tell her good girl.

Also, you don't want her leading the way, you want her beside you. Dogs that lead the way are leading because they believe they are the boss - you don't want a small dog thinking they are the boss, thats one reason they become biters and nippers.

If she constantly walks behind you, its a sign she doesn't trust you or feel safe with you - this can happen if you spend most of your time watching what she is doing on the leash instead of just walking her. When you walk her, start out with confidence and LEAD her where you want to go. If you don't lead, eventually she will think she has to, and then you get dominance problems.

As far as potty training, I wish I could help, but I haven't been able to get a chihuahua to go outside - however, I did teach them to use a litter box inside like a kitty - good luck.

I think it varies by the dog's mentality. My dog learned right away. I've heard of dogs a few years old that still don't know how to walk on a leash proper! The trick we used was to get a very long leash (about 20 feet) and go somewhere very spacious. Walk, don't stop, let the leash pull them. They will disconnect in their mind the leash from you pulling it (because they won't allow themselves to be pulled by YOU) and will eventually follow. Then there's more techniques for getting them to not pull. Which takes a lot of patience and time (for me anyway).

ok 1 first put on her leash and give her a treat, after that u just have to keep going on walks with her, soon she will get it.
2. take ur dog outside when u think she it ready to go and say "get busy" soon she will. if she pees/poos inside than shove her nose in it and say (rather meanly) NO! and than take her outside.

You need to let her get used to it. If she is not okay with the leash she won't do anything that you want. Put the leash on her when she is in the house and let her get use to wearing it. It shoudl help.
