I just found out today that in January of 2007, Windows will have a new operating system even better than XP. I've heard that people have beta versions of those and I'll love to get my hands on one....what sites do I need to go to to receive one of those? Who has one and what do you think of it?

For the first 2 that have responded already...THANK YOU!! That was exactly what I thought people would say....those were actually thoughts that were in the back of my mind...I used the BETA for IE7 and didn't like it....What you both said made perfect sense...I'm sure anyone else who responds will more than likely have the same response!! Thanks again!!

you can get it from microsoft.com, if you did not know about it you probably should just wait for it to come out... its out for beta for those that need to develop for it and for those who are system builders like me.... you will not like it right now, it does not have very good hardware support, and its also not very fast... its a BETA, and as of right now your better off with XP.

I've installed it and discovered that most application do not work with it. I installed it on a beater box (an old computer I didn't need for anything else). I'd recommend you do the same if you are planning on installing it.

When I tried to install an application that used .NET Framework 1.1, it complained that the application used something that was incompatable with Vista. Turned out it was Microsoft's own .NET Framework 1.1 :)
