I don't believe you have any idea of what you're doing. If licking them can cause you to be suspicious of her eating her own pups then how does the other animals in the wild give birth? Those animals might as well eat their pups up like raw meat if anything.
You need to do more researching and let nature take its toll. Not only did you make a mistake of seperating her and HER pups but if you touched them and the mom rejects YOU, she will eventually eat'em herself.
For one, you're not a hero, you didn't save the pups. If anything you might have killed them or put them in danger. Pups need to be cleaned up by their mom and they need to NURSE RIGHT AWAY!!! The mom has to bite open the placenta, lick her puppies clean, and nurse them immediately.
I'm sorry but if you're not aware of what you're actually facing you can call a vet. You should have done research, you should have let nature done its job. AND! In my opinion I think you need mental help.
I'm praying the pups will survive. sigh.

I doubt that she would have eaten them because, unless she has some inbreeding in her genes or other possible mental problems, she would not eat her puppies due to instinct, Mothers are known to lick puppies so that the placenta is of the puppies and she can breathe, maybe that was a bad idea because the puppies need to recognise who their mother is in their first points of life. Also, licking her puppies is a way of communication.

Hey!!! Put mom back in there - shes supposed to lick them! Thats how she cleans them. Just how do you expect the babies to drink milk from her, and you shouldn't put her outside after giving birth - no telling wether she is done or not and you don't want to stress her like that after giving birth.
If you are worried, watch closely, and ONLY if you are sure she causing them harm should you separate them - or if she has eaten a litter before.
Otherwise, get her back in there - she licks them to clean them, its nature.

You locked her outside?? Are you serious! When she was licking them, she was cleaning the mucus off them so that they could breathe! She wasn't going to eat them! Bring her back inside those pups need their mom!

Sorry, you're a retard. Your dog was licking the placenta/embryonic fluids off her pups. You just put your puppies at risk by separating them right away. They might not respond to her in the future. Put them back together right away.

??????? She was cleaning them off. Did you use forceps to clamp and cut the umbilical cords? Are the puppies even still alive? You shouldn't be breeding dogs since you know NOTHING about them. Leave it to the professionals.

Let her back in and watch her, she will teach you what to do if she needs help. She will lick them vigorously to stimulate them. She knows what she is doing. She will also lick them later on to stimulate them to eliminate. This is what they need. Hurry now - go get her and let her do her job.
