I have trouble sleeping at night so I get the most sleep that I can (about 7 hours), but by the morning and throughout the day I am wiped out. I drink a cup of coffee in the morning and then at least one mountain dew during the day. I don't want to take in that much caffeine, any suggestions on other options I could use?

Orange juice is actually a natural stimulant. I'm not sure why, but it's not a drug. I usually drink about 20 oz of OJ in the afternoon, which is when I have my worst nap attacks. Also, you do eventually become tolerant to caffeine, which means that the coffee and Mountain Dew could easily be nearly worthless for energy to your body now. I use caffeine, but only in short bursts. Otherwise, I get used to it and just start feeling badly.

I'd suggest that, if possible, you keep moving. If you can, do a bit of cardiovascular exercise, which will both help you sleep at night and keep you energized during the day. Even a brisk walk once in a while will help.

Also, if you can, try to eat six or seven small meals a day instead of 3 large ones. If you overeat or even eat until you are full, that can make you tired. If you can move to smaller, more frequent meals then you won't have to pack so much in at a time.mean Your metabolism will be higher, giving you more energy.

I have trouble sleeping at night. When I sit down for a long time, I become tired. If I can get up and move around for a couple of minutes every hours, I'm usually fairly alert and energized.

As others have said:
1. Exercise in the morning hours if possible, or right after lunch. A brisk walk or slow jog with stretching before and after would suffice and doesn't cost more than a good pair of shoes and socks.
2. Diet. Cut out carbs for lunch, opting instead for fruits and vegetables in as much quantity as you like. This will enable you to escape the post lunch "carb crash" so common from our meals these days.
3. Sleep! This is the often overlooked "third wheel." You mention you have trouble sleeping at night but that's most probably due to the artificial stimulants running through your system at routine intervals each day. Cut the soda and the coffee completely, cold turkey, and see if you can't get at least 8 hours of sleep per night much more easily.
Three weeks - 21 days. Try it and see.

Caffeine is the problem Stop taking Caffeine, and just deal with being tired for a couple days. You are causing a viscious cycle by drinking coffee which makes you stay up at night.
You can take herbs that will give you a boost, but make you tired at the end of the day. You can get this energy pill at any convenience store along with vitamins that you should take.
Be careful though, if you have heart problems you should not take the energy pill, or caffeine for that matter. The herb pill gives you more energy and makes you burn energy which makes you tired, similar to excercise. Excercise is good too.

forget about coffee for awhile- and never drink a soda- the sugar will wipe you out.
try oj (just a small glass every morning (if you can handle the acid)
then do a morning walk or jog (every day- slowly start with a mile and work up to 5) it should take few weeks for you to get used to the loss of caffeine. but it will pay off in a big way.

apples are said to energize as much if not more than coffee. Try having an apple with breakfast every morning. I have an apple/banana/alfalfa sprout smoothie every morning and I feel great during the day. Fresh fruits and vegetables are great energizers. Green tea is also good for you and has a small amount of caffeine.

I read a study that said the majority of people are fatigued because they are dehydrated. whenever i feel tired i drink a bottle of water and then i'm back in action. make sure you're getting 8 glasses of water a day. also exercise is a natural energy booster. finally, try honey sticks. they give natural kicks of energy and are a healthy form of sugar. stay away from the coffee and pop. water is what you need and your body will thank you for it...

Exercise. It'll be hard at first, obviously, because you're tired, but eventually it will end up giving you more energy. Easier to fall asleep, better sleep, more energized days, and you'll be in shape! So seriously, I know you were hoping for some miracle drink, but just get off your *** and work out, it's the only way!

merely get 7 hours of sleep; after that, an hour of more beneficial paintings will probable value you an hour of productiveness over the approach the day. in case you quite opt to tug an all-nighter, make confident that it really is in worry-free words a once-a-month ingredient. I advise eating caffeine, donning a lot less outfits, and turning the nice and cozy temperature all the way down to maintain unsleeping. yet those are non everlasting fixes; you quite desire your sleep.
