About Bridge...?

Question

I saw a picture of a suspension bridge. What reason and condition that happen wether choosing that type of bridge?
E.g. why not standart bridge?

Suspension bridges are used sometimes because they are aesthetically pleasing as well as tall which allows shipping traffic to pass under them. Suspension bridges are typically used for longer crossings than shorter ones. Suspension bridges are somewhat more bendable making them a good choice for earthquake regions. P.S.- there is no "standard" type of bridge. Each bridge type is unique in its characteristics.
