I'm the oldest of 6 kids (4 girls, 2 boys)...so I can tell you.
Advantages...plenty of siblings, makes for some fun memories, automatic friends (especially as adults), and never a dull moment. Yet, there are 5 people on this earth that I share more in common with and have a very unique relationship with that will never end. We're there for each other when the going gets tough.
Disadvantages...lack of privacy, lack of $$ (especially for older kids), younger brothers interrupting dates, younger sisters "borrowing" clothes, and in my case, bearing responsibilty for younger siblings at a young age (I started babysitting when I was 10)
But I wouldn't trade being in a large family for anything in the world. I was able to have 2 children, a boy and a girl, and I'm sad for my daughter especially at times, because she won't have the kind of relationship in her life that I have with my sisters.

Disadvantages: The parents never have time to help you with your homework.
Parents do no thave time or resources to allow you to participate in any extracurricula activities.
Others will judge your family as irresponsible just becaus eof the size.
People at your parents work get upset because they think they are paying for your kids health insurance, ect. This can lead to parents beingoverlooked for raises (legal or not it happens).
If the parents have a thing for the oldest, younges or one gender or the other, some of the kids get used while the others are spoiled.
None of your siblings will remember any event the same, so there will always be arguments.
Sometimes brothers and sisters get very jealous of each other and destroy your favorite toy, book ,....
Teachers never understand that your parents are too busy to sign stuff and you get marked down for it.
You never have any privacy and the bathroom is always a mess.
When your parents hit 45 they get too tired of all the problems and start ignoring you or dumping even more responsibilities on you, just as you are trying ti figure out highschool and the whole social scene.
You may go to the movies a lot less than other families, but your parents will probably take you to the park, beach, or on some field trip instead.
Shopping is a major pain, but you leanr early to value your money.
Other disadvantages will vary according to the educational level of the parents and the amount of time in between births.
Advantages: You learn to live with other people. You learn to share.
You have brothers and sisters who can help you with homework, memorizing things, and the first day of school.
You have great survival skills.
With luck, all of the kids are very independent and self-reliant.
You ave a built-in network.
You learn to make do with what you have,
You get use to be self-sufficient and not expecting anyone else to help you out much.

Disadvantages: you don't get as much atttention from your parents. you gotta share every little thing. If you are older you always gotta give in to the younger siblings. If you have lots of siblings, your parents may not be able to take all the kids to vacation or even vacation every yr. Growning up there is always someone who is a blk sheep, meaning someone in the sibling will be selfish, which create drama. Kids are Expensive to raised
Advantages: it's never quite, always got someone to keep you company. Kids or when they grow up they can help with househould work. The kids will have friends among one another. Kids can learn to compromise and work together as a team.

A big family has more assets to take advantage of in bad situations and in good -and often there when you need them most. The bad thing is you have to participate in more family functions and that might cut into your personal time a little. And you'll have more funerals to attend if you outlive everyone.

You get to interact with so many relatives of yours on daily basis . In one or the other way it leads to low expenses ... there are so many person to cheer you up when you are down..you never feel lonely ...
On the other hand it may lead to some kind of disruption in privacy.... In todays scenario there may erupt a feeling of jealousy... which may lead to bitterness in the relationships...
But overall i will always prefer a big family..though right now we are a small one.

The advantage for me of having 6 brothers and 4 sisters is you always have someone you can count on. Sometimes we don't always agree on things but they can still be counted on.
The worse thing is when they die before you do.
