I want to see St. Patrick Cathedral, Chinatown, SOHO, Ground Zero, and Time Square. Can someone help me to see all in one day? We are coming in at Penn Station. Where exactly is Ground Zero from Penn Station? Actually all of them.

Upon arrival at Penn Station (34th Street, westside Manhattan), find the small McDonald's in the station.
1) You will see the subway booth where you can buy a $7 One-Day Fun Pass for unlimited rides on trains and buses. Take the Downtown #2 or #3 train to Fulton Street. (Travel time: 20 minutes.) http://www.mta.info/nyct/subway/index.html
2) You are in Lower Manhattan (near Wall Street/the world's financial capital). Walk west towards Broadway. Visit St. Paul's Chapel, where the wooden pews have been preserved to show the mars/scars left by firemen who felt down with full gear, to rest after digging on the pile for our brothers/sisters for hours & hours. (It's heartwrenching.) Visit the new Firemen Memorial Wall along the WTC site, aka as Ground Zero is a fenced construction site. (1-1/2 hour)
3) Go to Broadway and walk north towards J&R Music Store. City Hall and park is across the street. Take the M103 bus and tell the bus driver that you want to get off at Chatham Square and Bowery, which is the heart of Chinatown. (Travel time: 15 minutes)
4) Walk around the little shops, bakeries, eat in a restaurant (much good food for low price), buy some fresh fruits/vegetables at bargain prices; check out the famous Ice Cream Factory (with exotic flavors) on Bayard Street; and visit the giant Buddha in the temple by Manhattan Bridge. Shop for cheap knockoffs on west Canal Street. (2 hours)
5) From Canal Street, go to Mercer Street and walk north. You will discover the lovely stores in SOHO (aka South Of Houston street). (1-1/2 hours)
6) On Houston Street, go to Broadway. Take the Uptown #6 train to 51st Street. Walk east to Fifth Avenue and St. Patrick's Cathedral. (1 hour)
You might check out Rockefeller Center and Saks Fifth Avenue department store which are both right there.
7) Across the street from St. Pat's, on Fifth Avenue, take M1, M2, M3 or M5 bus south to 45th Street. Walk west to Broadway where you will find Times Square. (Travel time: 20 minutes)
8) From Times Square, you can take Downtown train #1, #2, #3 or #7 to Penn Station. Or you can walk south on Seventh Avenue to Penn Station. (Travel time is probably equivalent, depending on wait time for subway to arrive.) (Travel time: 10 minutes.)
Of course, you should allot and adjust the visiting time at each location to your liking, and to train schedule. I recommend that you hang out in Times Square after dark, so that you can see its famous lights and signs and sounds.

Skip Chinatown and Ground Zero - really nothing to see. If you are coming from Penn Station, take the subway to Times Square. Then from Times Square, it is a very short walk to Grand Central Station - it is really gorgeous and there are a lot of great places to eat there. I recommend Cafe Centro. Then you could wakl to St. Patrick's from there or hop on the subway or bus.

It is possible to see a lot. Get a $4 Fun Pass, which will get you unlimited bus and subway rides for one day.

Yes it is but you gotta get up early and stay late. Stay in Times Square at the Super 8 Times Square Hotel. From there take the E train to SOHO. From there you can walk to Ground Zero, tehn to St. Patrick's, China Town.

Try these two websites listed below. One is the subway the other a tourist website.

Define "see" for me. I think you can see them but you will essentially be running from local to local. The neighborhoods - Chinatown, soho, and even Times Square are better if you have time to walk around and eat and shop and experience them. My advice would be to pick an area: midtown for instance you could see St. Pats, Times Square, Moma, Rockfeller Center (you can go up to the top too "top of the rock"), Empire State Bldg, and even the lower part of Central Park. Or pick lower manhattan, and go to ground zero, Statue of Liberty and ellis island, see the wall st. Bull, Chinatown/Little Italy, and maybe even Soho.

You can do all of that in oneday. You'll be doing alot of walking, which shouldn't be a problem. You won;t even notice the distance you will walk because NYC is so fascinating. Im not sure about the distance, but I think it's possible to walk to every site you mentioned. If you want to take the Subway, a all day unlimited pass runs at $7, $10 for 6 rides + transfer( you can't use a transfer on the train; you must pay again). You can ask more info at Port-Authority.They should be able to give you detailed answers.Have FUn!

yes you can see it all.
Walk out of penn station up 7th ave to 42nd. Thats times sq.
Then take the 2 or 3 train from there to fulton street. Then your near the world trade center. Walk or take another subway to canal street, i suggest you walk up broadway. Then your in chinatown. Continue walking on broadway and your in Soho.
Hop back on the 6 train, at prince or houston and take it to 51st to see saint patricks.
Collapse from exaustion in a pew.
Dont have a car, theres no where to park.
If you do take cabs, you only need 2, one to get from times sq to world trade, and then a second from soho to saint patties.

It is easy, walk to Times Square, then look for a bus tour they take you to all of it, it is a hop on hop off bus which means you stop at Ground zero and then get back on and off and on. I saw most of NYC in one day. Get there at lik ten in the morning and stay till nine or you will get a Extra train fee for leaving mutch earlier. If you want to go to the Statue of Liberty you have to call ahead 2 days in advanced to get a special pass so you can walk inside of her. The number is-1-866-Statue-4 ask for a time pass for the observatory tour.

Hello! Ground zero is downtown, wall street area. If you take a car everywhere, you can see everything. You need to get a book or address of everything so you can plan your day and transportation timing. Cab is fastest, then subway, then bus.
