if ur dad is in jail how does that affect u and ur feelings?

my dad is in jail and i just want 2 kno that how im feelin is the way 2 feel wen somethin like this happens and wen ur mom and sibilins try 2 keep it away from u.

it was killing me, and still it does
specially because it was political and he was innocent, hard working,smart businessman.
it killed me,
and when he got free after 6 months (and after court)that even there was no court for him during the time he was there, he got sick from the tortures that they gave him and he died one year after that.
i would never forgive those who done that and my husband who break up with me because he was afraid that he it would affect him or he gets in trouble. at that time my baby was just 40 days old.
i needed someone to ....
but he left me to keep himself safe.

You Mom should be honest with you and tell you why he is in jail. Your silblings are just trying to protect you. But, this is a grown up situation, and maybe some openess should be used. Do they know you know? Break the ice and ask them... get everybody talking. Hopefully that will work.

you aren't saying how you feel .... however, honesty is the best way to deal with family misfortune ... your dad screwed up and went to jail because of it ... that does not make you a bad person.

yes, you are embarrassed, yes, you feel ashamed for him, yes, you are angry that he disappointed you, yes, you are sad that he is not there to help the family. ... but, do not buy into guilt for what he has done, it was his choice and a bad choice. if people dis you for him being in jail, just tell them "HE is, I'M not. I am not responsible for his poor choices and he is paying for it. what has that got to do with me?" your value comes from within yourself, not from others, no one can make you feel worthless without your permission.
