you need to take him to the vet. he's not eating for a reason, and force feeding him may only make his health problem worse. only the vet will be able to tell what your cat's problem is.

On whose recommendation are you syringe feeding the pediasure to your cat? Not eating is VERY serious in a cat and it cannot continue for another day without seeing a vet.
Cats who are very ill and not eating respond well to finger feeding of jarred baby food. The kind that is pure meat - NO onion or garlic so read the label. Chicken and turkey is the best choice. Beef is not well tolerated by all cats. This is emergency feeding and should not be continued long-term unless you know your cat is dying of cancer or some other fatal disease.
A vet's intervention is an absolute necessity. Don't delay.

When cats and dogs refuse to eat, it sometimes can be an indicator that something is wrong. I would pay a visit to the vet as soon as you can (tomorrow, if possible) for them to run some tests.
They will likely run tests on internal functinos, like the liver & kidney. I would not try to force them to eat. Your cat is not eating for a reason. Your vet will be able to find out why. It may not be a big deal, but it's better to rule out any medical reasons why your cat is not eating.

Depends on the age of the cat, how long you have been having trouble with it eating, and if it is vomiting or has diarrhea. You may want to give your vet a call. Most places will at least reccommend something even if you can't afford the office visit.

Have you taken the cat to a vet? My daughter had the same problem with a abused cat she got from a shelter. What worked was to open a can of the smelliest cat food you can find like fish right in front of the cat. I hope it works for you.

My cat just went through that, she had the advantage flea treatment a couple of days earlier.
I gave her a bath with diluted baby shampoo to wash that medicine off.
Then for food, smeared soft butter over her mouth, she could not but help but lick the stuff . Butter is loaded in calories.

My cat was old, so I bought human fish food etc - things I knew he would eat if he were going to live. When he didn't eat the food, I called the shelter and they said that it was time for him to go. They gave me a sympathy card afterwards which I still have.

If your cat is refusing to eat, you HAVE to take it to the vet. It could be a sign of one of many, many different--possibly fatal--health problems cats can get.
