Its understandable that any which way is going to be hurtful but what is the best way to go about it.

Just be totally honest. Don't be brutal, but just explain how you truly feel. Yes it'll hurt, what doesn't, but to stay because your afraid to hurt them is worse.

it's always painful, but whatever you do, do not be a pansy and do it via email, voice mail, text message, fax, or otherwise.
if someone has given you their heart, be gentle when you give it back to them.
1. Do NOT place blame
2. Be VERY clear that this is ending, do not get talked out of breaking up
Say something like, "I like you, but this isn't working for me and I need our relationship to end."
Do NOT say you still want to be friends, unless you mean it.
After you've broken up, keep your mouth shut about anything private the two of you shared.

email has become popular lately among the truly cowardly.
There was even a recent cartoon in the paper in which a guy leaving a church with a woman in a bridal gown said to another woman coming to the church in a bridal gown "Didn't you get my email?"

Don't beat around the bush;give it to them straight. Don't give them it's not you it's me crap either. If they got on your nerves tell them. If you found someone better tell them that too. Don't play games just be honest and once you tell them get outta there. Avoid drama at all cost.
