Well they say caffeine is bad for you but...

If I started my day with decaf coffee, I would spend the first half of it in a stupor, and would probably be oblivious to things llike traffic lights, othere drivers, wheteher I was wearing pants, etc. For that reason, I think redgular coffee is definitely better for you

Decaf does taste different.

Decaf usually has a sour or weird aftertaste. The only decaf I know of that I sometimes like even better than the regular version is - Starbucks decaf espresso!

If you are really a coffee lover, like I am, why bother if researchers consider coffee unhealthy? Every week, some contradictory research pops up! I love my coffees, the stronger, the darker, the better; and it makes me happy and my health isn’t affected! And at least I’m not an alcoholic or a smoker!

F.y.i, it is true that you do need to use chemicals to extract the caffeine out of coffee. It’s methylene chloride. By the way, it’s also one of various ingredients used by meth ‘cooks’ to make the illegal drug, methamphetamine, or meth; like what you see on CSI!

There are chemicals in both decaf and regular called theophylline and theobromine that upset liver detoxification process and encourage cell profileration. The only thing you're getting out of regular over decaf is the caffeine. Researchers discovered that forgoing coffee lowers cholesterol levels and that it's not caffeine, but organic compounds called terpenoids.

As far as taste, mostly less bitter. It's a good method to kick the coffee habit.

Decaf is sometimes processed with harmful chemicals, I think some kind of bromides, that can be very bad for your organs, so real coffee is healthier. And why even bother with decaf? I drink coffee for the nice energizing caffeine effect.

jxt299 is right. Dont drink decaf because of the processing chemicals.
And really, decaf is as stupid as smokeless cigarettes. Why bother to fake the crutch. If you need coffee, drink it, just not so much.

Regular. What's the point of decaf? Really.

I have heard that regular is better for you physiologically because during the process of de-caffeinating they use formaldehyde to strip the coffee and that, as we know, is detrimental to your body. Stay away from diet pop for the same reason!

Caffeine is not healthy for the human body. It binds all of your trace minerals, and stop many enzyme processes.

The half-life of caffeine — the time required for the body to eliminate one-half of the total amount of caffeine consumed at a given time — varies widely among individuals according to such factors as age, liver function, pregnancy, some concurrent medications, and the level of enzymes in the liver needed for caffeine metabolism. In healthy adults, caffeine's half-life is about 3-4 hours. In women taking oral contraceptives this is increased to around 13 hours, and in pregnant women the half-life is 18-20 hours. Caffeine can accumulate in individuals with severe liver disease when its half-life can increase to 96 hours.[ In infants and young children, the half-life may be longer than in adults; half-life in a newborn baby may be as long as 30 hours. Other factors such as smoking can lenghten caffeine's half-life.

The principal mode of action of caffeine is as an antagonist of adenosine receptors in the brain. The caffeine molecule is structurally similar to adenosine, and binds to adenosine receptors on the surface of cells without activating them (a "false transmitter" method of antagonism). The reduction in adenosine activity results in increased activity of the neurotransmitter dopamine, largely accounting for the stimulatory effects of caffeine. Caffeine can also increase levels of epinephrine/adrenaline, possibly via a different mechanism.
