How about us middle aged white dudes and our Pitbulls?

i've thought of this question before but realized that it isn't just blacks but all races. With that said, i will agree that there are a lot of people that have the dog just because of the reputation the breed has. The only thing i can think for those people havign them is to show an image of intimidation or a false sense of power. I do not mean it to all owners because there are some really good dog owners of all races and creeds. There are those, however, that like to think or act like they are "gangsters" and want to show "how much power they have". Sorry to say but its a joke and so are they. just like the fact someone has a gun all of a sudden they get a false ego boost and think they are unstopable. They aren't unstopable and neither is the dog. I've seen this first hand.

First off not everyone that has a pitbull is black. I have four and Im white. Despite what people may think about the pitbull, they are loving, loyal dogs. People may say what they want about pitbulls being mean and vicious man hating dogs, and I will continue to tell them diffrent. People only hear what they want to hear about this breed and more only chose to believe they are vicious and wont be told diffrent. Pitbulls are NOT mean vicious animals, its the owner of the dog that makes them that way. We need to stop blaming the pitbull for its actions and start blaming the other end of the leash!

I have a pitbull and she is a big baby. Well she tries to act bad but it doesn't work. She usually scares herself. I think it is all a crock of crap when people say that certain people own a certain type of dog. I know what you mean though but they might want a tougher image. Which if it works then ok. BUT if they use the dog for anything in humane they need to get the dog taken away from them and they need to go to jail.

First of all, its not just "young black men" with pitbulls. But I have noticed that there are a bunch of macho lookin hardasses with pitbulls. I think a lot of it has to do with the reputation of pitbulls as being vicious macho dogs (which is untrue) but this possibly is one of the reasons that certain people choose them as pets, to increase their image. Unfortunately this creates a vicious cycle where these dogs are actually taught to be a certain way which continues to perpetuate their bad rap.

my husband and i have 2 pit bulls, and we aren't black
but we have them because we love the breed, and they are the most loveable and loyal dogs EVER

pit bulls are tough dogs so i guess it makes the guys seem tough
